best green superfood powder?

Recommended Posts

Yup on the hay barn smell' date=' tastes like alfalfa to me. I used to take alfalfa tablets. I used about 16 oz of Water the first day, about 10 oz the second day. With my small banana tummy I like to get it over sooner so I concentrated it.

I have been hitting it twice a day, probably over-doing it but that's me. I put it in a whey shake with Peanut Butter and it was real good. I drank it in some coffee today, pretty strange but palatable.

It may be too soon to tell if it is having an effect on me but I do believe I am sleeping better, a huge thing for me. My bowels have been going pretty good, too. I had a slight headache after my morning dose, a good sign that toxins are being dumped.

Any effects on you yet?[/quote']

I just had my first serving an hour ago so too early to gather any real feedback yet. I did notice a quiet alertness after drinking it. Will update in a few days after I can gather enough sample data points.

I am not sure about mixing it in with coffee! I think that would weird me out a bit too much. However, I might mix it into Cookies and creme shake. Mm, that might be strange also!

I did get the minor headache after taking today and yesterday in additions to little allergy like symptoms (sneezing and runny nose). I do not have allergies to anything, so I think it is just a start of the process of detoxing. Slept really well last night with no sleep aid ( a first in a while) and just "feel better." It is hard to quantify that except to state I feel a gentle and quiet alertness, even at 6am, without coffee. That i think is saying something.

This Amazing grass is really good stuff. I am impressed. Also found that mixing it with pineapple/ coconut dasani flavor is a really good combination.

It seems to mix well with dairy type stuff, too, if you don't mind whatever you mix it with turning green. I don't.

I have been getting a lot of gassiness which I blame on the powder. Not a big deal for me, my body is adjusting. I am still sleeping well. I have a feeling that about week 2 I will notice a big difference in energy.

I think the gas is coming from mixing the greens with dairy that's a bad combo try it with juice I reckon the gas will stop

I took your advice, Soocalchic. I think you were right. I am separating my greens and dairy now. Thanks!

I have new combination which I call "Extreme Green". I mix the green powder with cold green tea which I made from Organo Gold green tea bags plus some green tea extract, (nasty tasting stuff on it's own), and a bit of raw, unfiltered honey.

I heat some Water and pour out a bit into a small glass with the extract and the green grass powder and mix it.(The extract does not dissolve well in cold Water and clumps of it are vile!)

Then it goes into the cold tea glass and add the honey.

It's quite a boost early in the morning.

Gman - how has the amazing Grass been working for you since we started taking it? I have not had to take a sleep aid since and feel pretty rested in the morning, even when rising about 30-45 minutes earlier now. It gives me a good perk and seems to help with overall focus and clear thinking throughout the day. My running times have also improved since taking, but I am not exactly sure it can be attributed to the green drink. I am going to keep taking this daily.

I used the http://www.vitacost.com/amazing-grass-organic-wheat-grass-powder in the past... need to get back to it though the memory of the taste is givingm e some reservation...

I keep coconut Water in the home, maybe I will try mixing it with that...and a few lemon slices....

That is good that you mentioned mixing the grass drink with coconut Water. I do the same thing, but mix with pineapple / coconut flavor. It makes the drink much tastier then the default hay / mint flavor and adds a little "zest". Good thinking!

I am noting the same things you are about focus and sleep. My energy level is up I believe. I find myself looking forward to my morning green blast. I feel an addiction coming on,... this shall continue. :D

You probably mentioned it, but what flavors do you like best......original, chocolate, or goji acai? This has perked my interest and I REALLy need a way for more veggies and fruits without the calories! I think that my non-sleeved skinny husband could use the added benefits of sleeping well also!

Thanks for all the advice you all give!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
