stalled......frustrated!

Recommended Posts

I was losing a pound a day then nothing. Been stuck at the same number all week. Getting frustrated and discouraged. What am I doing wrong?

More than likely, you are doing nothing wrong. I was sleeved 2/4 and I lost every day the first 15 days for a total of 18 pounds then nothing for the next 9 days. Very frustrating considering it is impossible for me to overeat! But, even though I was not losing during those 9 days, my clothes were getting more and more loose so something was happening. And then this morning, I got on the scale and I was down 2 pounds. Just keep doing what you are doing and the stall will break.

Please don't get discouraged yet- this happens to almost everyone. Your body needs time to catch up to this weight loss. You are more than likely doing everything right and don't need to change a thing. I have hit so many plateaus that I lost count. I even had one that lasted a MONTH! So hang in there- that scale will be coming down again soon. Here is a great link that "Butterthebean" (a member on here) had on his signature that really helps. Check it out. http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html

You are doing great! Patience and perserverence are the two words I think of most often with this weight loss journey. My 1st 2 - 3 weeks I weighed every day because it was so exciting to the pounds drop, but I soon went down to twice a week and now I am once a week. You might try to not focus on the scale so much, the weight is going to come off..

Good Luck!

Because our initial weight loss is so rapid, we get attached to what are, honestly, high and unrealistic numbers. Think about it, you said you're losing a pound a day. That's about 30 pounds a month. That's HUGE. Even for someone like me, who was high BMI, 30 pounds represented about 7-8% of my total body weight. Not my excess weight, my TOTAL weight. That's a little bit crazy to drop that much weight in a month, but we do. Eventually, though, it will slow down.

Stalls, plateaus, and other frustrations are a normal part of the process. Learn to be okay with the fact that sometimes, even when you do everything by the book, your body will have other ideas.

I was losing a pound or more a day, then 1/2 pound, then 1/3 pound, then less and less but what do you know...I arrived at my goal and fit into clothing that I could have only worn in my 20's!

In Orlando, at the highest traffic times of the year, Disney,Universal, Seaworld and huge outlets create a glacial speed parking lot on Interstate 4 and one lives with many stops. Patience is thrust upon you. I admittedly lose mine as witnessed by my relieving myself on the road shoulder with my back turned to the parade, before reaching an exit, it was an explosive situation, a urinary emergency, modesty got ran over.

My family had a good laugh though.

Anyway, we still got where we were going after many, many, stops. So will you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
