January Bandsters???

Recommended Posts

My first fill is next Monday - Right now it seems I can eat anything so I hope that changes with the fill. It's encouraging to read about others who were banded this month to know that most of it's normal.

Today was to have been my first fill but the Dr's office called late Friday and cancelled it. Today I call the office and got the answering service. I asked why was the office closed and she said do to the holiday!!!!! I was stunned. Cancelled a appointment that was made 2 weeks ago for President's day. I am not a happy camper. I too can eat more and more each day. If I had that much will power I would not have need the help of the band.

Thanks for letting me vent!!!!!!!

Hey All!

A few days ago I asked " should I get a fill just 3 weeks before we are scheduled for a cruise on 3-11-07" Well I went to my fill appointment today and told them of my situation and the strongly suggested that I wait till after my cruise. The reason being: they are afraid I will swell up on either the flight to Florida or on the cruise ship itself. They told me that there are a couple of girls on staff that go on cruises and they both say they swell up while on cruises and in fact, the both get a slight unfill before they go on their cruises. They also told me that they can never predict how a fill will go and it would be better to be safe than sorry, after all, the doctor's on the cruise ships would most likely "NOT" know what to do with me should I have problems. So, as one post told me, it's a "NO BRAINER" and another post said to call my doctor. Glad I did. Wheww. I have lost 20LBS since pre-op diet. YEA ME! But I have been stuck for two weeks at the same weight, BOO-HOO, me. I must EXERCISE!!!!!

Hey Guys, I haven't been on in a couple of days, I'm down at the Boyfriends house. Been feeling really really good actually. Been great getting out of the house for a few days. Anyway - I don't think I have any restriction. THAT has me scared. I'm making the best food choices I can. Though tonight, I had two small crab cakes, some spinach and a little mashed potatoes - and I felt my limit. By no means would I be so filled on this before my band. BUt here I am 20 days out -and I think about to enter Bandster hell. I am trying to stay on schedule with my small meals; about 5 a day. Surgeon told me NOT to count Calories - Imagine that!!!!!!!!!!! hehehe But I am doing Proteins first. Actually had a little ice cream last night. Have had some shaved ham from the deli, hummus, great, great chili my BF made, a crab cake from Wegmans, and some other stuff this past week. Oh yea, lite Turkey spam!!!! All mushi stuff. I haven't weighed since Friday...honestly - I am afraid. I do not want to gain before my fill. Surgeon said no way until at least 6 week visit. So...3 to go - I can do it. Just thought that 'diet' word would be out of my vocab. Would rather stick to small portions of what I want.

He took me off the diabetes meds, b/c my sugars have been so low...and I'm feeling good. I hope you're all well!

Sheri Lynn

PS; Bought a food sealer, and plan on measuring out meals and freezing them for easy access/portion control.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
