so should we not be walking or anything ? i feel worse AFTER i walk ... it will just start feeling better and i got walking and then the i feel bad all over again !? it is so frustrating cuz i feel like i should be doing something !?

Hi MonSoleil~Congratulations on your banding..I dont' mean to step in on a converstion but I just wanted to give you my perspective on walking...I was feelin horrible my first few days and my MD told me to walk...I thought he was insane but I tired it anyway...I started by doing maybe 20 minutes and went up in 5 to 10 minutes intervals daily..I'd stop if there was too much pain...It was hard in the begining, but let me tell you girl, now I walk 3-5 miles a day with no problem...I still can't do any machines cause those do cause me Pain...I would go little y little...but I've heard if you don't walk at least a little there is a lot pain...just my 2 cents...:D I wish you lucka nd I hope the pain goes away soon...my pain now is something that's "stuck" and jsut doesn't want to budge...:faint:

Hi everyone,

I just want to let you all know that I bought those Papaya Enzyme supplements. All I can say for now is that they are tasty. I'm still waiting for the pain to go away...then again food is probably not there. Since my other foods have gone down okay. All I have had today is pineapple juice, lemon juice mixed together w/ meat tenderizer and three papaya supplements. So I'm hopeful that tomorrow I won't have any pain!

Be Blessed!

Oh NOOO!! This is awful, worse than after surgery. It feels like a bad twisting sensation. So I don't know what else to do...my doctor just called me and said I can come in the morning at 9am. I am so thankful, because they are booked tomorrow. I hope you hear from you doctor too.

Be Blessed

Hey Edie,

I'm not feeling 'full'...and not sure if I'm feeling 'hunger'. I too am afraid of PBing - and think that might be what is causing me not to eat too much. I'm 15 days out - and all that wonderful restriction/swelling is pretty much gone. I find myself wanting to eat more...I think. Does that sound crazy? Like now, I'm thinking of having cottage cheese, so I get some saiety.

Hi Sherilynn,

I don't feel hungry but I want to taste food. Most of the time, I can't tell if I'm full or not. I guess there is a learning curve to this and we are on it. I feel pretty restricted, especially in the morning. For Breakfast I usually just have my Protein Drink.

Edie

Today marks 1 month since your had your band, tell us about your experiences this month, what have you noticed? What have you learned? What are your struggles? Did you measure before surgery, if so, how many inches have you lost, this tells so much more than the scales....the scales sometimes lie.

Just curious how the 1 month bandsters are doing? I think it would be a good idea for all of us to maybe tell about our first month with the band.

It's been 24 hours since my first fill and I'm not feeling any restriction. I had 2 scrambled eggs and about 10 olives for dinner last night and went to bed hungry. I just knew I wouldn't be one of the lucky ones who gets restriction on the first fill.

You had two eggs and 10 olives and you were still hungry?? Wow, how much can one person eat?

Just kidding, of course.

We were banded the same day. I am one of the "lucky" ones, and I still do have a lot of restriction. This has caused other issues, like a dangerous number of PB episodes, which is not good. But I do know I'm not yet ready for a fill.

Try not to worry too much. Just keep getting fills and adjusting the band until you get it right. Then you'll be well on your way. It won't be long now.

Thanks, Mark. It gets discouraging sometimes. I feel like I'm just waiting for the band to kick in, and I'm afraid that it may take forever to get there. I'm not known for my patience. But it certainly helps to have the support of other bandsters like you.

Do you know what size of band you have? I just read a story of a lady that has had her band Ithink for 6 mos, she had the 10cc (VG) band, it holds 10cc, she is at 9.5cc and finally has restriction.

I know my band is a 10cm - which holds 4cc's.

Hang in there, do you know how soon you can go back for another fill?

Mine is also a 10cc band, which holds 4cc. I think I can go back in 2 weeks for another fill. Meanwhile, it's been 2 hours since my breakfast of yogurt and cheese (total 210 calories) and I'm already getting a headache from the hunger. Ugh! I just have to remember that 2 weeks is not long, right?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
