vitamins and nausea

Recommended Posts

I am two weeks post op and was feeling pretty good until I started taking my vitamins/supplements. Started taking Calcium, B12, folic acid and a Multivitamin. The multi I was on for a few days and was ok. I think it has to be the folic acid or b-12. I feel like I have a lump in my throat and feel nauseated. I cant even take my other Vitamins bc of the way I feel. Anyone else go through this?

Started my chewables 3 days post op. it's a lot on the stomach without surgery let alone a basically empty stomach. Try after your Protein, heavier than water... And will coat your stomach.

That happened to me !! Make sure you eat something before taking Vitamin. I had to try a bunch before I found the right ones . I like the food concentrate Vitamins , they are easier on the stomach.

Hi,

I had the same issues..... I split my multivitamin in half and I take one in the morning and one in the evening. Also, you can try taking the rest of the supplements at other times. This has helped me, thank goodness!

Is your B 12 a pill you put under your tongue or you swallow? I was taking a B Vitamin you swallow and switched to the one that dissolves under my tongue. It is much easier on the stomach and it has a good taste.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
