Sure, the phone number for shake the weight is 903-223-5673. It's on the corner of Kennedy Lane and Cowhorn Creek down from Crockers Jewelers and Arby's.

Hello all. Returned home from the 2008 National Lap Band Conference in Dallas last night. It was wonderful!! I wish everyone of you were there. There was a wealth of information about foods, nutrition, ect. The speakers were amazing. The topics were everything from sexuality to grocery shopping. They were all caring and concerened to our community of bandsters and very commited to our success. There was a Dr. Vuong that even volunteered to hold a support group meeting for any of us that wanted to attend at the end of the conference Sunday. One like he holds with his patients. I did attend and it was wonderful. I did see NewJulie there, she was decked out and "lookin good" for the party Sat. night. She will probably post something about the conference too. I throughly enjoyed it. Take care all.

Hello everyone!

Well, I made safely to and fro:smile: The actual conference on Saturday was GREAT! Sugarbear was there, looking great:wink_smile:The sex therapist /counselor was very "informative", she even brought "visuals" (toys). My husband missed that part:blushing: But the speaker had a great sense of humor and kept it all in good taste and she was hilarious:thumbup:Dr.Sina Matin is like the Chief of Surgeons at Baylor and he has a GREAT personality and was very informative. He said at our support groups it is VERY important to talk about "real" issues and things that are important to us as bandsters. Don't just limit our meetings to talking about the calories, Protein or kinds of food, talk about feelings, family support, even personal things that we might be afraid to talk about but they are really the issues on our minds.Bring out the saucer and servings for a visual reminder. Talk about how irritated your family may get when they take you out to eat and you don't order as much as they do or you don't clean your plate. (Get their $ worth) He also said it is very important to have doctor's involved in our meetings, not to provide free one on one medical advice, but to support and be informative to the group.

I could go on and on about what I learned:smile2: but I don't want to wear you out!

Congrats! Ali. I know just how you feel.

Sugarbear and NewJulie glad you all had a blast and it sounds like it was very informative. Thanks for sharing. It does go beyond just the food and portions. We have other underlying issues and I feel that we need that in our support group.

I just thought I'd catch y'all up on my saga of being too tight almost since the day I was banded. We've finally got it figured out! It was an undiagnosed case of gastritis in the lower part of my stomach. I've finally lost some weight after a year of a pleateau and struggling with being sick a lot. The docs put me on prilosec and it's making a HUGE difference. I couldn't feel that I was having acid reflux after my band was placed so my stomach was irritated often. I've lost 13.5lbs since my last fill on August 30! I went Monday and didn't need a fill. I am so relieved that we've got it figured out. I am SO much more comfortable!

i was wondering if anyone else has a problem with gas. it is so embarrassing.

by the second part of my day i am so full of gas. all the time having to run to the bathroom to pass it or walking around in a store and going up an aisle that no one is on. lol

i just wondered if it was just me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
