FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Recommended Posts

So' date=' a month ago I was wearing size 52 pants. Today, 11 days after surgery, tried on some jeans and I am in a size 44. They were a little tight, but down 4 pants sizes! I am not sure who is more excited me or my wife. I have had to add 3 new loop holes in my belt. I am struggling with my mental hunger and doing what I should do, but fitting into jeans size that I haven't had since I was in high school! Wow!!! So happy!

I'm on lovenox twice a day too.. How bad does your stomach look? My gut is COVERED in bright purple bruises and pinholes lol it's getting harder to find new spots to do each time. I'm on full strength aspirin too so maybe that's why I'm bruising excessively but OMG it sucks.

I had my surgery earlier this month and had to get the shots during my stay (which due to some complications, I was there for 4 nights). Each time, they gave me mine on the upper outside of my thigh and honestly this pain that I've heard about hardly happened. It would burn for about 5 seconds and that was it. We would alternate legs for each shot. It's worth a try : )

I am always cold too! And I was always the one who was hot before so this is a change!

And I am 3 days out? 14th... and every time I eat pureed I feel like I'm putting more gas bubbles in? Anyone else feeling this?

I am not regretting this just know its all in the process of healing.

I haven't weighed myself yet since ive been home' date=' I will do that on Thursdays.

All I know is this freaking gas is killing me!!![/quote']

Question 3 days out and eating puréed? I'm still liquid only and I had surgery on monday....that might be why ur feeling bubbles

Glad ur home. I just discovered that if I use a medicine syringe to take in at least my Protein I am getting more down. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's helping. Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for the tip!

Yeah that is what my surgeon said. Weird huh? I even went over all my paperwork and it says same thing. I should be eating 2 tbsp of food at breakfast/lunch/dinner withb Protein Shakes in between.

I just got back from a 1.5 hr walk! Hoping to push that gas out!!!!!

I was sleeve on the 15 and I was told to do clear liquid diet for 2 more days than full liquid for 4 days then puree for 6 week's

I have 2weeks of liquid and fat free yogurt, apple sauce, fat free milk, and broths. Then 2 weeks of puréed foods, followed by another 2 weeks of soft foods

I was instructed 2 weeks full liquid, 2 weeks of pureed/blended, 2 weeks soft, then try foods and eat as tolerated.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
