Is it possible to stall 1 week post op?

Recommended Posts

I know there are PLENTY of stalls to look forward to, including the infamous 3 week one, but here I am one week post op this last Wednesday and the scale hasn't budged since that day. I started mushies yesterday if that makes any difference whatsoever (and who would have thought mashed canned salmon would taste so heavenly!). I weighed 231 prior to surgery and weighed 222 on Wednesday and have been that weight since....

I'm meeting all my liquid and Protein goals and walk a minimum of a half hour a day (and one day when I felt like an overachiever I walked close to 2.5).

Honey child! Stay away from the scale the first week!! :) I didn't even look at a scale for the first week! Look down I don't know about you but my belly was huge! (yes bigger than normal) I called it frankenbelly! You are swollen from the surgery and retaining Water. Wait another week or so then things will even out.

Haaa!! Okay. Hi, my name is Roxanne and I'm a scale addict. I should have my husband hide it. Yeah, the bloated torn up belly is uber sexay right now, but at least the swelling is going down quite a bit! Thank you for the reality check.

I lost 90 lbs before and kept it off for a year and a half (before I got pregnant) and I swear my scale obsessiveness helped me keep it off! I started getting lax when I got pregnant in fear that I would become "preggorexic" and instead I very much fell off the wagon. So being a bit scale obsessive even though I think it might be unrealistic given that I'm only 10 days postop, right?

And yes, the only weight that counts, in the words of my dear friend, is "first thing in the morning, buck naked, after taking a poop." :)

I did the same thing. I am 11 days post and after my one week I hadn't lost a darn thing. I was sorta upset. Then the next couple of days following....wow I was down 2.5 lbs then 2 days later another 3 lbs down. It will start to come off. Just take a deep breath and it el happen. Like it just falls off. Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
