To Eat or Not To Eat...Just A Thought

Recommended Posts

Okay so I really try to get in my protien, calories, Water etc...

But I wonder...Should I be making myself eat cause it seems that's what I do.

I could probably get by with barely eating but I make myself because I know I need my protien.

So I eat probably around 800-1000 calories a day.

I get my 70 grams of protien.

And I lose slowly.

I see people losing and losing and I wonder...Are they eating as much as me?

Should I cut back on my eating to lose faster?

I would totally appreciate any advice or comments!!!

Well, from what I've been reading on this site. Everyone loses at different rates. So stick with your nutritionist/dietician's recommendation. There is a big advantage to losing slowly.....not as much saggy skin! Good luck!

You must get all your Proteins and Water no matter what. I am 4 mos out and I have just been able to get all my proteins in. Even if you do not feel like eating your body has changed so eating will have a different effect on your body now. How many months are you post op? ONE of the biggest mistakes people make is looking at others. Set your goals for yourself and keep your eye on the prize. Good Luck

To eat! Your body still needs that baseline nutrition to keep itself running efficiently. Eating less than what is recommended will not only slow down your healing, but also your metabolism and weight loss.

Like Chris says, don't compare! Everyone is different!

I see that you are 4mos out and are just beginning to get all your Protein in. I'm only 6 weeks post surgery and I am struggling, STRUGGLING to get even a little protein and water in. What were your eating habits like at 6 weeks. I'm constantly reading post about people who have had their surgeries after me or a few weeks before me and they all say that they are getting their protein and water in and I just keep wondering "HOW??" If I drank that much water or took in that much protein, I would vomit - simple as that.

I was sleeved Aug 24th so I am almost six months out. Today I hit 80 lbs gone...I will continue to eat. I just need to be patient. In the beginning it was really hard. I find it so much easier to reach my protien goals if I drink one protien shake for Breakfast everyday.

Protein shakes are a big help! And you are literally eating or sipping all day. We can't consume much in a small amount of time.

Curvy Girl, 80 pounds is amazing! Good for you, and keep up the great work. :)

Sazzygirl, you should speak to your doctor about that! Make sure to take small bites, chew well, and space out your bites well.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
