Another joyous occasion ladies!!

This A.M. I weigh 234.6lbs.

This is a VERY big deal for me. I have now hit my lowest adult weight.

Since getting my esophageal spasm under control, I can eat and my stall is over!!! Yay!!

234 is also the lowest weight I achieved dieting by myself.

What a great number to have reached!

HAPPY TIMES!!!

If this continue to go this good hopefully this strong since of regret will fade!!

Thanks for enduring these struggles with me and embracing the celebrations!!!

Great news! :) it's so good to hear that the meds were able help with the spasms. And your losing weight?? Got to love it, at the end of the day that's what brought us all here.

It sounds like you are on your way to better health, and when you go to the urologist on Thursday I hope to hear not hopeful news!

Kisses to you and Venla,

Laura

Oh my goodness! It's so great!! To finally feel all this relief almost feels unreal!! I am sure things will only continue to get better. :)

I have made peace with worst case scenario for my kidneys. Riding it out at home, whenever it strikes. So if the urologist can't help, I am prepared. :) left kidney started acting up again last night. But I am manage SO much better since having relief in other areas.

I hope your day is great!!

How did you know it was leaking? Like what kind of signs n symptoms did you have??

Great question but read the conversations she explains the answer to that question several times

Hi Laura,

How are you doing? Do anything for St. Patrick's Day? My hubby is cooking a big meal tomorrow and our friends are coming over. It should be fun.

Thank you so much for the kind thoughts. food is staying down!! :)

Darn kidney stones are awful!! The pain is coming and going again. Peeing out renal tissue in larger quantities!!! So disturbing!!!

I have been wondering if these stones are more than a result from the severe hydration I had from my leak, but also a result of this medicine I was given in the hospital. I was told I was only to have it right after surgery. I given this drugs for weeks in the hospital. At one point a nurse seemed very distraught that I was on it for so long and stopped it right away. At that point my kidney function was pretty low.

Can't wait to read my medical records and find out what happened!!!

I hope the test tomorrow is easy and productive.

Best.

Sannah

I have explained this in great detail in this thread. I try to be very transparent and share as much as I can. I hope that it's helpful. :) if you have any questions I would be glad to answer them if you aren't able to find them on the thread. It's a lot to continually type out.

I hope your journey is nothing like mine!! Wishing you wellness,

Sannah

Hey Sannah,

Sounds like fun tomorrow! It's nice when you can do normal life type things :)

Our weekend was pretty quite, my son dictated that one! But I did get to work in the yard which is always nice because things get kinda messy and overgrown In the winter.

I'm glad that you are finally keeping things down:)

That medicine is really working! I can't wait until Thursday when you get to see the urologist...

I have my scan in the morning

You know I was thinking our body's remind me of an old classic car I used to have.. The minute you tried to make improvements to it everything else was thrown off..

That car was worn all down together humming along just fine (kind of) and bam you change something and then everything else starts breaking down!

So I will drag my old breaking down self in tomorrow and see what's wrong now! :P

Hi,

I love it!! We are surely old cars then!! :) Only thing is we require less fuel!! haha.

Hopefully your scan will only lead to one thing and not a complete breakdown!! My word! We only need to keep running smoothly!!!

Tomorrow shall be great fun!! I can't wait!!! My hubby loves cooking, but he is a meat eater!! He cooks tons of great stuff that everyone but me like. Haha. I was a long standing vegetarian. Lately I have had turkey!!! Not sure i could do cows or pigs.

Hard work is always so rewarding!! Do you enjoy it? A good workout!!

It's amazing to keep food down. I can't wait for Thursday!! My hubby loves to travel for work. and hasn't in a long time. I agreed he could go if he wanted. So, hopefully I will have a good appointment with the urologist. I want to get all this out of the way so we can live our lives freely!!!!

Does your current health affect your daily functioning? Any plans this week?

Best,

Sannah

Hi!!

I am so happy to hear from you!! Thank you for messaging me!! I really enjoyed everything you wrote and shared with me.

I am so HAPPY to hear your life is crazy busy in a good way!! :) That is surely great news!! How is your journey going?

Things are becoming much easier these days!! :) it's been four months of challenges. I am starting to realize and feel the impact this has on my mind and body. Somedays I still struggling with not wanting to eat and I have hard days. The good part is I am realizing that I can do anything and make it out on top! It's hard to explain, but I have had a shift in my being. I have always been grateful for those in my life. But there is this deep sense of human relation and compassion for others near me. The people who I never thought would be helpful have turned out to be the best and key players in my life and success. Due to this I see greater hidden value in people. I hope that some how I can return the support and compassion to others.

I have to say nurses are nothing short of AMAZING!! :) Thank you kindly for all you do!! Several nurses that helped me through the darkest days are just GREAT!! I go back and visit them!! They are so lovely!! I am sure you have touched the lives of many people and I hope they are thankful for you!!

Yes!! Yes!! Kidney stones are much worse than labor. I have felt labor and this pain is so small in comparison. Also you have a beautiful baby for all the pain. I am thankful for relief of a stone passing, but a stone isn't equivalent to a baby!! Haha. I am so doing it!! I am naming my stones!!! After all it's a labor of love, for myself!!! I have been reading on kidneystoner.org. Now to find hilarious names!! I am ready and at peace with whatever is to come of the urologist. Surgery? Baring it out alone?!... Who knows right? I will be just fine and will learn something from this.

Thank you so much for following my story. I am humbled by all the support and kind words! :)

Have a good week!!

Best,

Sannah

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
