Hello

I am currently thinking about having the vsg and I am about 446lbs! I want to know if there is anyone that was or know someone. who was over 400lbs and did awesome with the sleeve. My surgeon suggest bypass and that scares the crap out of me!

Hey all haven't heard from ya how are things going?

Edited by jenngottaloseit

Hi Jen! I was thinking the same thing last Friday but didn't get a chance to post. Did everybody have a good 3 day weekend? I go to my 6 month appointment on Friday. On one hand it doesn't seem like it has been that long and on the other it seems like forever....does that make sense? I'm right on the verge of halfway to my goal. Hope everyone is powering forward!

glad to hear things are going well for ya, i have hit a snag. I have to have a EGD done on friday and possible dilation of my sleeve. They think i have a stricture. I have not been able to keep much down. Hoping things go well and i get back on the losing journey.

I had the same problem I couldn't keep things down for about a week.

I had the EGD (No Big Deal) They found nothing, In few days later every thing was fine.

My surgeon said that doctors don't know why yet, but the EGD seems to reset things.

After that week things went fine and I was back feeling good and loosing weight.

Hey Jenn, how are things going? are you able to keep things down now? feeling any better? give us a shout out!

sorry i havent been on lately. I did have a stricture and they stretched it back out a little. Doing a lot better now. I had some crazy heart rhythms when i was waking up from EGD so i had to stay over night and now have to see a cardio doc. But other than that doing well. Thanks for checking on me :)

My weight loss has been incredibly slow even though I only take in 7 to 800 calories a day and do water aerobics most days of the week. Surgery date was 7/14 and started at 389 and now at 364. Met with the nutritionist and she feels I'm right in track and that 8 to 10lbs a month is normal. I'm trying not to be a negative Nancy and didn't want to drop too quickly but did think I would at least lose a bit faster than this at first. I feel like my metabolism has probably slowed to accommodate the fewer calories and that my body has moved into starvation mode. Anyway trying not to overthink it or compare my journey to others but it's hard not to when I read that people are half way to goal etc after just a few months it makes me wonder what's wrong with me?

hey Jenn how are things going?

How is everyone doing? Thought I would give a shout out and see who would shout back! Jenn? Joe? Cathy? Bueller? LOL....anyone? EVERYONE? Hope everyone is doing well!!

Checking in. I'm still a relative newbie. I was sleeved on 9/18. At my 2 week check up I was down 26lbs, at my 6 week follow up I was down another 6 making it 32lbs total. I only weight myself at my doctor's and my next appt isn't until 12/19. Surgery was a breeze, no pain, no gas, no complications. I feel great, working out 4 days a week and keeping a food diary at My fitnesspal. Hope to confine to see the scale moving down.
