LoL I need to do that' date=' I only have a couple of things, one is a pair of white denim shorts, size 20!!! I should keep them within reach!!! Good idea. Like you, I went from an 18 - 20 and now I wear 4's and 6's. I like Gap jeans, and have three different styles and three different sizes. 4, 6 and an 8. The 4's look the best but the 6's are more comfortable! LoL The size 8's fit just like the 6's for some reason. I STILL look at the 4's and think 'surely not'. LoL I love, love, love to shop now....before, I shopped because I HAD to have something. I never felt good about it or had a fun time.

We must be at the same weight because those are exactly the gap jean sizes I have, although the size eight style is starting to fit baggy. Before I only ever shopped for purses and shoes now I love shopping even more although I must say that the constant approach by sales staff now irritates me. Before I wouldn't get the time of day at stores especially boutiques now they won't leave me be to shop in peace, but I digress and discrimination against the obese is something that deserves its own post.

I'm not sure where I saw this idea, on one of these threads prior to surgery. It suggested getting a disposable camera and taking a picture the day of surgery, then taking a picture every month on the same date, for me, that was the 11th of every month, do this for that first year. After your one year anniversary and picture, have the film developed. Wow, the transformation is amazing!!!! It's fun to look back at the pictures. I did NOT realize I was that big.

Not seeing the new you is very common. I decided to take a picture and measurements each month. I can see the transformation through these, but I still see me in the mirror

So just take a look at some old pictures and you'll see it too

The other tool I use is a photographic height and weight chart.

The 8's are the 'Curvy' style, I do like the way the fit, and since I'm not losing any more, I'm hoping it wasn't a waste of money!! :) The Long 'N Lean are my 4's. The probably look the best, but some times I feel fat. I know, I know, but still, even when we are thin, we can feel fat. My tummy hasn't been perfectly flat since I wore a 6X in 2nd grade. The 4's are fine with a shirt that isn't form fitting, with a tighter shirt, I have that little roll that I seem to focus on. I can't remember what the 6's are, they may be Long 'N Lean as well.

Another thing that is helpful, I also found this idea before surgery....it is really neat. When you are with someone close to you, you spouse, friend, mom or dad......at a mall or grocery store, anywhere public. Have them point out someone who is your size. I still have my husband do this once in a while, and it still shocks me!!!

That is a great idea. I look at my daughters. They are about 10 to 15 pounds lighter than me. I am still amazed that I can be as shapely as them. I also have a pair of. My daughters jeans that I can almost zip. Couldn't even get a leg in before. We all should be proud.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
