I'm scared bc I'm in the full liquid phase and not sure If I'm eating too much. I generally have my Protein drink in the AM and then creamy Soups. pudding and Jello as needed. What if I'm consuming too much??? Should I focus on the liquids before Protein? What if I did all of this and I stay the same:(

I don't see how I'm not loosing, I'm 2 wks out and prior to surgery ate like It was my job!!!

Am I being too impatient? Be honest......

If you are two weeks out you may still have hospital weight. I assume all your pudding and Jello is sugar free right? Your Protein shakes and are liquid so that kills two birds with one stone.

One question - how long did it take you to get to the point that you knew you needed surgery? I ask because the question keeps things in perspective for me. It took me twenty years of being over weight to one degree or another and it is going to take some time to get the weight off. Two weeks is not long. Give it some time. I am four weeks out and had been stalled for over a week. This morning it broke. It was only a one pound drop but at least it broke. It motivated me to stay on the treadmill for an extra ten minutes. We are learning how to eat again, we are learning about head hunger and how much harder it is to fight than real hunger.

I suggest you make sure you get in your Protein and Water and be consistent. You won't be able to stop yourself from losing weight. We went from way too many calories a day to a very low number litterally overnight. There is no way we could not lose!

It will come!

Good Luck

You just had surgery. It's not an immediate fix. This is a life long journey. Your body is still in shock because of the surgery. Everyone's body reacts to trauma differently. Some people lose 30 lbs in the first 2 weeks, some maintain, some gain. Ignore the scale and the swollen body and just get to work on what you need to do for the rest of your life. Make it habit now - it'll be easier and better in the long run.

If it's any consolation I feel the exact same way as you do. I am 13 days out... feeling great physically, doing the work, but I have lost nothing since I got home from the hospital... not what I was expecting, I am disappointing and worried this was all for not. :( They (everyone) keeps telling me it's because I had a low BMI. But I went through this/self paid, and truly expected some more substantial results.

I am a little over 5 weeks post-op and I have lost 25 lbs. that includes 5lbs. pre-op. I had been on a two week stall and yesterday morning the scale finally moved again. Don't get discouraged, it will happen. :)

Don't forget to track how much and what you are eating. I like using My Fitness Pal. :) It really helped me in the beginning because it made me more aware of what nutrients I was getting in. My focus has always been to try to hit at least 80 grams of Protein.

And, I had a three week stall that started week 3. They happen. I know it can be discouraging to NOT see the weight come off, but it will. I also learned early on to not weigh myself daily. Our bodies will fluctuate in weight day to day, even morning compared to night. Why? The food and fluids we eat/drink that is still in the system will increase our weight temporarily (and don't forget the other bodily functions). Pick a day and time to weigh yourself once a week. I swear it will help keep your sanity intact. ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
