Undercover what a great post! So informative..........I am going to try to make a few changes to break that stall' date=' you were very helpful! Just want to see the scale move I am motivated and doing really good pysically just went that needle doesn't move it messes with you. Even after reading it is normal. Just shouldn't be after what we have been through to get here! Hugs[/quote']

Hang in there! I was at breaking point with a 3 week stall and now it's finally broke! I've just lost 2 lbs but hey it's something!

Surgery done on Dec 17. I'm down 33 lbs. I had a few problems in the beginning but I'm doing better now. Can't wait to get released to exercise.

Sleeved 12/11. 10lbs preop, 22lbs since surgery. Not bad for a 67 year old grandma :-)

Way to go!

I had my sleeve on 12/13/12 and I lost 40 lbs the first 3 weeks but since then, I have not lost any in 3 weeks! Anybody is in the same situation?

I was in a 3 week stall. I lost 4.2 pounds in last two days though. Things I did differently last few days: had a cup of coffe at breakfast after my nut said I could have two cups of caffeinated coffee per day. I noticed significant changes in "liquid output" on the very first day I had coffee. I also cut carbs from 40-50g range to 15-20g range. One of those things or both seems to have shaken me loose after being completely dead in the water for weeks. Or it was just time!

My working theory is that I got a bit dehydrated in the 2-3 weeks after surgery and while I was meeting my water requirements in the next 3 weeks, my body was holding on to the water more than it normally would WHILE I was still losing fat. So the scale didn't move. Then either the diuretic effects of a cup of coffee or the diuretic effects of extremely low carbs started shaking lose that excess water I was retaining and output returned finally to pre-surgery levels. Another possibility is that I finally got enough hydration into my system that I stopped retaining much of what I was drinking. If that's the case, you might be able to avoid a stall or end a stall by forcing more water than the 64oz minimum: like 80oz to a gallon.

A quick check of the scale tonight says I'm lower than this morning (which almost never happens during the day as I eat and drink) so I expect to see more loss when I weigh in tomorrow.

This is all very anecdotal so take it with a a grain of salt, but its just me theorizing at an early stage about what I did, what I observed, and what may be breaking my stall. I in no way believe I suddenly lost 4 pounds of fat after losing nothing for weeks. The fat must have been gone already and last two days were mostly dumping water weight and/or glycogen.

So... If you are in a stall, i would ask yourself "am I drinking a lot?" and "am I peeing a lot?" The answer to both should be yes.

Sleeved December 31st: 18 pounds Pre-OP+ 20 pounds Post-Op= 38 total lost

Godspeed my fellow sleevers and congratulations on your "Journey Of Life"!

i took a diuretic pill last saturday and lost 6 lbs over night of fluid and felt so much better ..........but i wanna see ONDERLAND!!!!!! just a few lbs from it!!! i had retained fluid for the last 10 plus yrs and would take a prescribed diuretic about once a week when i really needed it . it had been at least 2 months since i took one , and it really helped me !yep, bein in a stall sux!!!!!it was soooooo fun seeing that scale move every day ......thought it was too good to be true !! lol!!but.........ive gone from a 3x top to an xl top and 22 jeans to a 16 ......so somethings workin right !!!!:) patience is not my virtue and this is not fun! :(

I broke my stall... dunno what happened... but I actually GAINED 2 lbs... thankfully I lost it and more... down to 278 as of this morning's weigh in... 3 lbs from my Valentine's Day Challenge goal!!

Congrats Dee. Did you do what undercoverbariatricgal suggested and drink a lot more? Just curious if that is what worked for you.
