I know...I am just over 4 months out and still do not regularly go on my own. I just recently starting taking daily Fiber and also take milk of mag once a week otherwise it could be weeks on end before I go. And each time I go, I am losing a pound..pound and half...So there is something that needs to see the day of light again only my body has not figure out to make it happen on it own since surgery.

I am using the bodylogix Protein for women with 20 g carb and g fibre. I take this twice a day with a tsp of metameucil in it. I have not had any problems at all, other than the first week after I came home. :) I go pretty much every other day, sometimes daily.

if you really need to go, but don't want all the stomach cramps that come along with stimulant laxatives- try dulcolax suppositories. Just try and hold them in as long as possible. You will get relief in less than half an hour. Of course, this is only after you've tried all the more natural and long term sources. But this is a quick fix, and as we all know quick fixes always have consequences- but I don't think it will do any damage if you just use it occasionally and if you really need it, like those times when you haven't gone in over a week. That is so uncomfortable and I feel like it is worse for your body to be THAT backed up. they are a little expensive, but so worth it in my opinion! Just please don't overuse them! :)

This stuff is my new best friend! It is healthy for you too and something our body doesn't get enough of since we have been sleeved! If you add up all the stuff you take it doesn't cost much! This has totally helped my constipation!!!

I take Magnesium 500 mg every nite. Around my TOM I sometimes have to take Miralax. Haven't been constipated since the first month. When i forget the Magnesium I can tell though....

I take chia seeds 2x daily (breakfast and bed time) and also one serving of miralax a day. Not sure if the miralax is necessary, but do find I get a better bowel movement after each meal if I combine it with the consumption of gelled chia seeds on a daily basis.

The chia seeds worked well for me too. I've been having a tablespoon (gelled) in a glass of Water daily, although I'm going to halve this and see how it goes. I couldn't have a movement without a laxative, now I'm regular and no pain involved.

I took Benefiber every day for a while, using it to take my supplements. I'm doing better now (more fiber in my diet at four months) so I take it about three times a week. It will get better once you can add a bit of variety to your diet. It is temporary!

I don't think I can drink anything gelled.... Ech. Maybe miralax or benefiber.

I haven't gone since I was sleeved (three days ago) but I don't want to, anyway. I'm afraid any kind of pushing will hurt my incisions. I had to cough a little yesterday and thought I might die from the sharp stabs of pain.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
