3 days post opp and emotional!

Recommended Posts

I had the exact same experience! It sucked! All I was doing was sitting around trying to feel the weight fall off! It is happening now but that day 3 weight was a mistake. I should have listened to all the people who said not to weigh the first week. But' date=' now all is well. It gets better - I'm 6 days out now and already turning into a new person.[/quote']

Lol - waiting to feel the weight fall off.

You are right about weighing. Due to Water retention from IV fluids (I gained 20 lb after 5 days), it might be best to wait until week 3 to begin weighing. However, do be careful about weighing too often because that can definitely lead to disappointment for some. The good thing to look forward to is that most folks lose a lot during the 1st 2 months where the scale is moving 1-3 lbs daily (also depends on your starting weight and BMI). This was the case for me, but definitely not true all around as the many threads on VST documents. Get ready for an exciting journey of new experiences where you are reborn into new eating experiences, new drinking experiences, new exercise experiences and new life experiences.

It's from the IV's definately!!! DO NOT get upset! After a few days as the Water drains out of you the weight will start coming off! You are going to see that scale go up and down a lot over the next few months so try your best eat healthy, eat Protein first, drink lots of water and keep moving everyday and you will lose weight. I was highly emotional too after surgery, not sure why but I remember crying in my husbands lap hysterical because some people really socked it to me, but looking back on it now it was laughable!!! Congrats on your surgery and good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
