white hands and face

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Sorry to spawn another "I am freezing" thread, but this one is a little different.

My hands, feet and face are always white, no color in them and my hands are especially always ice cold, even in room temperature. I bought a little duraflame space heater that I hope will raise the temperature of my home office warmer then 72( temp rest of house).

I have been thinking about whether my Iron levels are off (or any other nutrient, electrolyte, etc). My Multivitamin has 50% DV in it. I am asking to determine if i might be anemic ( not sure how to self diagnose this).

Your thoughts?

What color are your gums? My doctor would always tell me to look at my them, and you'll be able to tell because of how white they are. They are supposed to be about the same color as the inside of your cheek

Yes, I do tend to get sleepy tired often by the end of the day (5ish) and notice I get dizzy from time to time ( not constantly). My guns are not white, but definitely lighter than inside cheek.

Yes, check your Iron. When I was anemic and had to have weekly iron infusions I had white hands, face, gums, and also check inside your lower eyelid.

Although in this day and age it's rare there is also iodine deficiency which presents like this, since we eat mostly iodized salt it is not a common milady, although with your reduced diet perhaps it's a possibility.

Can you email your PCP and ask him to order a blood panel of all your blood values including Iron? I did and my PCP ordered them without having to go in. That was the quickest way to get results. If no email, can you call him....Otherwise start taking an iron supplement to be safe. BTW, I have been so cold lately too. My hands are ice cold and my feet a very cold also. I think I heard this last for about 2 years post op. I was very happy during the hot weather.....:)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
