Hello guys, hope you're having a fantastic week. If some of you are in my exact situation "waiting for insurance approval" lets find comfort in each other and share our story... My paper were submitted to Cigna last Wednesday 12/12/12 and yesterday the surgeons coordinator called to request a Diet History that the insurance company is asking for... I think is a good sign ... What do you think??

I got approved on the 5th, got the letter Saturday! So excited! Congrats to everyone! I will get my date next week!

It's called a medical necessity letter , basically with my bmi , conditions and family history . I'm so afraid that deny me . Has anyone's insurance requested this letter ?

That request is pretty standard for all ins companies. I don't if i have come across anyone who hasn't needed it.

I was submitted today! Just curious I see a lot of people already have dates set for surgery before approval, is that normal? I can't do anything until the ok from insurance, which is basically just my sleep study and surgery date. I'm so excited and nervous!

I'm waiting approval. My papers were submitted to the insurance this past Monday (February 11th.) I called the insurance company (and my doctor's office also let me know today) that my case is currently with a nurse at the insurance office and he/she is reviewing the clinicals. Hopefully I'll have an answer by next Tuesday. They better approve me the first time! I surpass all the requirements for the procedure.

My paperwork was just submitted Friday morning, but I've already been scheduled for March 5. Maybe my surgeon's office deals with Anthem Blue Cross a lot?

I was kind of speechless on the phone. "Just calling to let you know I just submitted your paperwork. How does March 5 sound for surgery?" Uh... what?
