  6. So excited I been waiting for this for the longest. Can't wait to get my surgery date I am wanting to go it some time in September. My husband doesn't even know but will here in a lil bit. The 6 month diet program was well worth it. So love this community it has helped me out so much too!!! Thanks everyone for all the advice yall put on here.
  7. That's exactly what my surgeon said and he specialize in both. He said the lap band is over rated he has seen so many cases of his first lap banders having to get it removed. I was really scared cause all I thought about was half of my stomach being removed!!!! Aahhhhhhh
  8. Hi everyone my name is rosa and I switched to the sleeve a couple of weeks ago. I am finally done with my 6 month diet program first woohoo. Everything got turned in to them from my surgeon got a call from the dietician yesterday stating everything looks really good and expect to hear from us later this week or early next. Wooshhhhhh I wasn't even expecting that so glad to hear something positive. I feel really tired weighing 283 and being 25 this is not how I want my life to be anymore. Looking forward to getting to meet new people on the same boat.
  9. Sending prayers ur way!! My husband was all cool at first encouraging it and all but now that we ate very close he second guess everything I say. I'm like Wth!?!?!?!? It's insecurities I think
  10. So excited and happy for my self just had my psychiatric evaluation today and it went great!! Feeling so blessed ???†how exciting everything is going to start rolling now the test was like 3 packs of true and false and they were all alike just worded different. I passed it didn't know they run them to get an analysis of the percentage. So people don't worry it's a piece of ???°???‰
  11. My insurance required a 6 month diet too. Its really a benefit I'm learning so much in the mean time. I'm already in my 4th month and I finally meet with my Dr. Baker in a few weeks. Congratulations!!! The wait is well worth it
  12. I live in Arkansas and have Qualchoice and they only do Lap Band in patient.
  13. I have qualchoice in arkansas and I have to do the same thing too. I honestly think its an advantage for us because I see a lot of other people on the boards post surgery and they are lost or confused on what to do. I have a monthly appointment with a nutrionist and an RN. We discuss weight issues, whats gonna happen post, how I need to prepare my self on eating now and a lot of other things too. I had to go the other day to my PCP to get all my lab work done and my weight on paper. They really don't demand anything out the ordinary but I think if you miss more than 1 appointment your 6 months starts all over. I will be going into my 3rd month so I have to say that time passes by real quick. I have my psych eval on Monday.
  14. I can understand the doubts they may have. Hell my husband came right out and asked me when I started my process. I was like why would I do that? I clearly said that I was not doing this to be skinny but hell to actually be able to go sit at a booth with out worrying, ride the rides at the fair, ovulate more regularly I mean I can keep going. My husband is 160 and me 281 doesn't look good anymore. I mean I was at the mall the other day and what hurt me the most that the counter rep asked my husband "is that your sister?" I was like WTH?? In my mind that bothered me . GOOD luck
  15. I feel so much better after reading everyone's response. I feel a lot more confident as well. I had a tough question on my mind today. I was wondering should I wait to get pregnant or do so before? Any thoughts?
  16. I was thinking about that too. Lets see if I can do this. Thanks for the support
  17. Well I have qualchoice here in Arkansas and they require that I work with care wise prior to surgery. My dietician called me today and told me I have to be with them for 6 months to prepare me for surgery and after. It's really not a bad idea she says that a lot of insurance agencies don't have any requirements and the patients go head in and don't get all the support they need. It's mandatory as well I can still go to the surgeons office and stuff get that ready. It wouldn't be till June booooooo but I would have plenty of information by than.
