  1. Laura I am glad you put your photo back, that pink unicorn scared the Hell out of me!!
  2. I agree with you about @laura-ven, when I an feeling like shi*, she will say something funny and I just LMAO. It goes the same when she is telling someone the truth, and they then talk BS to her I want to crawl through my laptop and whip their A**. When you talk with @laura-ven it's like being on Oprah's couch, I told her before she should charge
  3. Prior to surgery my reflux was so bad I would wake up choking. This was terrifying, my Dr said it could possibly get worse after surgery. My PCP sent me to a surgeon for a procedure called a Nissen Fundoplication to help fix the problem, which I quickly declined. Needless to say the surgery has seemed to fix the problem, I have had not one episode of reflux and I don't take PPI's anymore.
  4. My husband told me to officially get over myself, he REFUSED to do anymore nightly scalp examinations. So I have taken matters into my own hands with a mirror. It's funny the OCD/Addictive behaviors that pop up, now that my old buddy "food" has been replaced. Seriously, shopping, realty TV you name it stuff is scaring me. One of the biggest reasons I have been MIA around here, staying up till 4 am on VST was getting out of hand. Just needed to rant

    Odd but cool NSV

I don't know whether or not to take it as a compliment or not when my youngest hugs me and says "Mom you're not a fluffy as you used to be". He is at that "truthful age", so I just accept the hug and I don't question it
  7. Speaking of changing taste, I was so Gung Ho before surgery and bought tons of protein powders soups ans protein drinks. Unfortunately for me I drank so few of them, and I cant give this stuff away. Have to totally agree with MsAntiband, I would be prepared but this type of stuff won't disappear from store shelves in the next few weeks.

    Bcbs

I had surgery in March, there were a fair amount of people with BCBS(we had a thread) What I learned is, if you follow the guidelines and meet qualifications according to your employer's plan you will be approved. BCBS usually comes back with a decision rather quickly, it pretty cut and dry.

Words that should be banned from VST

I have a confession, I am guilty of some of the before mentioned terms. "My name is Just1Girl and I am a baby talking sleever addict" I have come to this forum to find a cure, if not a cure I wish to enter "baby talking sleever rehab.

    Anthem

I have Anthem Insurance and they are pretty straight forward with their requirements. As long as you follow these guidelines as well if any, that your employer has in place you should be good to go. A bit of information I can give you is that, Anthem processes their bariactric cases by having the insurance coordinators call to establish a case first. They are then given a case number, once the Nurse is ready to review the case they call the office and have them fax your file. This is where the errors are usually made, it can and will hold up your case. I am speaking from experience myself and a bunch of other people who had surgeries in March experienced. The coordinators will blame it on Anthem, but it's just not the case. Speak to your coordinator prior to him/her submitting your claim to avoid this issue. Once they have submitted your claim call Anthem for your case number. You should ask for the medical management department, not the regular claims information number because they cant see the case from their system. Anthem usually has a pretty quick turn around thankfully. I wish you much luck on this wild and crazy ride.

I think any sentence that starts with...."My sleeve doesn't like it when I eat....... That's as bad as people who speak in the third person. "Would you like some Filet Mignon"? "Why of course not "Sleevy" only likes her caviar darling"

    BIG FAT PEOPLE!

As far as food addiction or unhealthy relationship with food, it's not just for overweight people. It's just a cultural norm that seems to be associated strictly for those overweight. I have lived the majority of my life as a normal weight or thin person, but let me tell you the obsession with food was always there. Even at my lowest weight of 115lbs I had serious problems with food addictions/obsession. I planned more of my day thinking about food when I was thin, than I did at my highest weight. At my heaviest it took no planning it was Grab and Go just fill my belly now!! I was going to have a high calorie meal, well that meant I had to plan for that, and restrict my intake to very little or nothing. If I didn't restrict then that meant I was exercising like a fruit cake. Or participate in very unhealthy behaviors that I knew were wrong, but it kept the weight off. I would fast, restrict, exercise, restrict, fast exercise (etc). It was a vicious cycle that was difficult to stop. For me regardless of the size I was food has always been there, friend or foe is has been my one constant. So I must say where it stands now, I am giving this my all, but I will never convince myself “I'm Cured”. If I ever proclaimed that, I would be giving myself the permission to return to the old me. And I am no fan of the old me. Thats my 1/2 cent contribution

    I feel real hunger!

If I were you I would be very careful about going off your diet. Although you are fine and I am glad you are, your stomach is healing. I am not trying to scare you just letting you know there have been posts made by people, who did not follow their physicians perscibed diet plan and they caused themselves a leak. A leak can be life threatning and it is dangerous to push your luck. All things come in time, you will be able to enjoy all the things you love, just give it time. I wish you luck on your journey.
