Green's grumblings

Recommended Posts

I kinda hate to admit this but I signed the consent forms without reading them. I was really anxious to have the surgery. Anyhow, TLBC didn't mention anything about my giant liver so I guess that when it is looked at up close and personal it looks healthy enough. Otherwise they would have said something, right???

If you were to meet me you would say that I am a very healthy looking woman and yet lately it seems that my health has become my hobby. Not only do I have this business of depression, and I have been assessed by a number of specialists over this as well as regularly seeing both a psychologist and a psychiatrist, I also have a torn rotator cuff. This hurts and I can't go to the gym. I go to physio twice a week for that. They say it is going to take a long time to fix it. I had two root canals done in a six month period. For awhile my eye doctor thought I might be a candidate for glaucoma. I had two false positives for kidney disease and had to have 'em unltrasounded and that was when they first saw my big liver. The kidneys were fine. One of my blood tests came back weird and so I had to see a specialist over that! It turned out that there was nothing wrong. That was a relief. And I go for my second fill this week on October 31st.

All of the above translates into a lot of appointments and a lot of worry. It is a good thing that I have just opted to take early retirement, eh? LOL

Too bad my hobby is such a boring one....

Green, when you go for your fill. Ask the Dr. about your liver. Such as did it look enlarge, did it look like there was a pathology? Should you be concerned by what he saw? He would have the best insight of what's going on with your liver.

Today I have two appointments, physio for my shoulder (which still hurts a lot) and my second fill. I am thinking of shopping therapy....

Yes, a number of important bits of clinical information can be gained by careful external palpation...

That's what you boys have been telling us for YEARS, Jack. I think that's how I ended up with 4 kids in 5 years!

So shopping therapy was a total bust except that I did pick up a couple of books that look interesting for 2 bucks each. This is good. I read a lot.

I had physio in the A.M. by the 2 physio guys, Mr. Pain and Mr. Pleasure. Mr. Pleasure is the guy that runs the nice machines and Mr. Pain is the guy who hauls my arm into weird and excruciatingly painful positions until I whimper. I have a low pain threshhold so this happens fast.

Then I spent the next hour and half walking around, doing a little shopping, until my fill appointment. It has been two weeks since the last one but I have lost another two and a half pounds. This is very good and Green is happy. She now has 5cc in her band.

I didn't get a chance to talk about my giant liver because the doctor doesn't do the fills. It is a fill tech who does 'em.

Hanging out with the other September children was fun. The TLBC makes us stick around and drink Water for awhile after our fills; this is to ensure that we are not over filled. There were a number of us who were sipping our water and yapping.

Anyhow, I am now down 15 and one half lbs!

Hi

Green I was in Toronto yesterday. And As I walked and shopped I was looking for you. A woman with large feet and a protruding liver. I'd whipser "green" to see if any one would turn around LOL

I walked from Eaton Center to the Price Arthur Medical Clinic. It was such a beautiful day. Went to your Winners, nice stuff but I just didn't feel like trying anything on :)

I had my first fill, all is well.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
