Welcome everyone! I am so glad to finally have some members. This group was started so I could find people who were in similiar position as myself. I noticed most people were either in low 200's or lower. It's wonderful to know we're not alone! In this group I would like to share each other's stories and support each other through the hard times. With that being said, let me introduce myself. My name is Brandy and I am 37 (for the next four days at least). I am a single mother of a four year old named Abigail. I have been heavy most of my life. I was only about 40 lbs overweight when I finished high school but once I entered the work field the weight started piling on. I gained a great deal after the pregnancy. While I was pregnant I gained the normal 26lbs but after almost two years and a bad breakup the pounds really started packing on. So here I am today over 300 lbs and making the hard decision to have surgery. I am excited and crazy nervous at the same time. I hope all are well and I can't wait to read your stories as well.

Hi! I was sleeved on 11/28/12. I started out at 321 lbs. Now @ just over 6 weeks I am 281 lbs. and SO EXCITED. Not one regret for me, this was the best thing ever did for myself. I am starting to work out, even though it's tough and I am sore, I am determined to stick with it!! My biggest struggle is getting the required amount of liquid but I work hard at it every day. Looking forward to hearing and sharing with all of you!

Welcome Michelle2948 and congratulations on your surgery! Thank you for sharing. Did your surgeon require you to lose weight before the surgery? If so how did you do it? 40 lbs WOW A-mazing. Great job.

Yes, I was required to loose some weight prior to surgery. Mostly to help shrink the liver to make the surgery easier for them. I was put on a pre-surgical diet, that consisted of Protein Shakes and frozen meals (healthy choice & lean cuisine)...ohh and some fruit. Admittedly I was starving but I knew what I was headed for so I did stick with it.

Hello, My name is Wendy and I recently joined this site..Im not sure if Im over 300lbs but last time I weighed myself I was 290 so I hope you dont mind me joining your group I didnt find any others that interested me.

I have wanted surgery for awhile but lack of funds and insurance has stopped me, we got new insurance at work and they cover it woohoo but I have to do the 6 month thing starting wed. I was disappointed on having to wait longer but in the long run it will be better I think.

I have been overweight pretty much my whole life and with every loss I had I found more. My weight and food addiction is consuming my life and Im so ready for this surgery and starting the next chapter of my life...hopefully healthy and hot lol

I am 43 mom of 3, grandma to 3 and a wife, I also have been a truck driver for 13 yrs and have spent the last 4 driving team with my wonderful hubby.although a very fun lifestyle not the healthiest lol.

Hi Truckerchic! Congrats on getting things moving with surgery! I have not one regret about having this surgery. I am almost 7 weeks out and already feeling better than I have in a LONG while. Don't worry about the 6 months....it will go faster than you think and prepare you for all of this. I wish you all the best!!

I love seeing all the new members and want to welcome you all. Would love to respond to each and every one but the computer is soooo slow. Hopefully getting a new one soon. Anyway, love that you guys are already chatting with each other. That's what I wanted, support and understanding from people in the same boat because it's easy to feel like the only person on an island sometimes. So welcome everyone! As for me, still waiting on my surgery date but at least I'm finally getting the c-pap machine on Wednesday. Man I hope it gives me some energy cause I need it!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
