Band limitations.

Recommended Posts

By my calculations I have 5cc in a 4cc band. It doesnt seem to bother the Doctors while they are adjusting. They simply watch the barium and pump the salline. So whats the deal. Go until its correct or stop and thats it.

Any info on this??

Not sure exactly what you are asking. I'm not sure how you can have 5 cc in a 4cc band so I think the size of band is incorrect or amount of saline.

I also have all my fills/unfills done under fluro. I've been over filled 3 times so filling until they see restriction doesn't work for all. SOme of us don't feel the fill until days afterwards.

I'm from the school of slow and steady. I think moderate fills are the way to go. You might need more to get to the sweet spot, but overfills are not good. The stomach needs time to get used to be restricted.

You may actually have .5cc in your 4cc band. I know that even .5cc in a fill I just had recently has me tighter than I've been since the surgery and I have the large VG band.

I agree that slow and steady is the best route. I actually had to have .5cc removed from my last fill, I could hardly get Water down. It is not a pleasant thing when you are too tight.

I have a bit over 10 ccs in my 10cc band. My Dr assured me if need be we can go to 12 or 13ccs with no problems. A friend of mine sat on 12.5ccs for months.

I dont think I will need another fill again unless I get the rest of my weight off, and maybe I may need a touch up or so later on. What I am trying to say is that even if you did have 5ccs in a 4cc band, it is nothing to panic about. Also with your band being the smaller one, small fills will get results, so maybe even .2 or so next time might push you over the edge to being too tight.

It took me 10 fills to get to my sweet spot, we are all different, but most of us manage to get there...eventually.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
