Totally there with u. I started 280 after liquid diet I was 260. Day I came back from the hospital

I was 265. 1 week follow up I was 258. I am 8 weeks post op and been stuck at 243-245 for like 6 weeks! What gives!?

I have noticed that my clothes fit looser though. Have u tried increasing ur Water? How's ur Protein? Are u taking ur Vitamins? Are u on myfitnesspal? I tried all of things and it seems to be helping?

well to be totally honest I didn't increase my Water because I thought maybe my body was retaining water! that was the only logical explanation I could come up with. but yes I get plenty of Protein exercise.

Your body will hold onto Water if you aren't taking in enough fluids. The more fluids I get in the more weight I lose.

Anesthesia causes a lot of people to retain Water. My scale was higher immediately after surgery for almost a week. Then, I dropped several pounds pretty quick - nearly a pound a day. Then, I stopped for four weeks. Just keep doing what you know is right. It will come off. I know it is hard to not judge it by time frames, but when you look back, you will wonder why you were worrying so much in the beginning. I was so bothered by my early stalls. Now, I really don't care because I know the weight will drop eventually.

Make sure you drink enough Water. The more you drink the more you will release. I find it odd that you have not lost more. How many calories are you consuming? Try to stay around 500-700 calories eat only Protein and take your Vitamins. Don't worry about exercise, you will lose weight regardless.

Your body seeks equilibrium, if it's retaining Water it's because you have too much of something that causes water retention (salt or left over anesthesia, for example) and your body wants to grab more. The more water you drink, the body decides that it's too much and sheds the extra water, and along with the water, some of the "substance" goes with it. The more you drink, the less that you will retain. Think of your body as a sponge; at first it sucks up all that you give it, but at some point it gets saturated and any more in just goes back out, in this case, flushing some of the sponge with it. Drink, drink, drink and the water retention will resolve itself, and watch that you're not eating hidden salty stuff. If you're drinking broth, make sure it's low sodium.

You guys rock and I love this site. Im increasing my liquids effective last night and will keep u all posted. I thought about this and think maybe I AM eating some items that may be too salty. So im eliminating that also starting today. (fingers crossed)...

P.S. The sponge comparison was great-made perfect sense. THANKS A BUNCH

Guess what?! The stall is broken!! Down 5 lbs today on the scale! YAY!

Congratulations! And like everyone said, make sure to keep drinking, it actually makes you retain less fluids!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
