How Much Tip And Spending $?

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I'm just wondering how much cash I should take for tipping, etc?

When I was in Tijuana from 10/30/12 to 11/3/12, we pretty much tipped everyone that serviced us...

We tipped our driver Samuel $10 when he picked/dropped us up from airport to hotel... he took us on a little drive by tour of sites in San Diego...

We tipped our bellman at the hotel a couple of dollars...

We tipped our room service guy a couple of dollars...

and then tipped our driver Samuel again when he dropped us off ( he took us to the ocean in San Diego and let us play for a while ) :)

oh and if you eat in the resturants you'll need to tip as well I suppose. :)

I took around $200 cash I came home with some money. I didn't tip my driver much but that is because I was not happy with him. He picked us up at 8 we got in at 5 pm and we didn't get to the hotel till 1 am.. and we spent most of that time driving around the airport collecting people. Yeah everyone was so confused as we were instructed the driver would be waiting for us with a sing with our name on it. That was not the case at all. I think of all of us 4 getting surgery and 3 companions maybe ONE person tipped him.

We took about 160. But don't bring 20 dollar bills, nobody in Tijuana will have change for it. Even the hotel really didn't want to give us change for it. We should have brought most of it in 1s and 5s. Save the 20s if you go shopping at the touristy stores, there they'll take them but then again, everything in the store costs a lot more money than anywhere else too.

I took 160 also and i came back with 100. My only advice has already been mentioned. I wish I would have brought smaller bills for tipping. Although I can say that the bellhop at the hotel was very gracious for the $20 i gave him and literally came to find me 3 different times to make sure i was comfortable and see if there was anything i needed :)

I tried to tip my driver but she refused and said she was happy to pick me up. But i know that the people who went souvineer shopping tipped their driver, thats just common courtesy as it was during his free time :)

(I stayed behind to relax and read. lol)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
