Yuck. That doesn't sound fun at all. Hope you'll get better and better. I'm one day ahead of you and already feeling a hundred times better than yesterday!

Thank you so much. I look foreward to feeling better. I keep walking around and it seems to make me feel worse when I sit back down. How did you do it?? That and still hooked up to an IV

I'm one day post op, last night was hell. Not gonna lie, I throw up and was nauseous all night, didn't even sleep. Only upside was I walked....a lot. Doc came in and said I did okay in surgery but may need to stay another night. Booo

make sure it's not the morphine that is making you nauseous - ask for different pain med - and definitely nausea meds! Hang in there - it DOES get better each day!

Thank flyou for the advice. I'm getting nausea meds. Just wish I could lay down comfortably. Is tramdol like morphone

Yes I definitely have preferred standing and walking to laying down. I finally was able to get another pillow semi propped under my stomach and slept on my side. That was the only way it didn't hurt. Getting up and down takes a lot of stomach muscles so I try to use the wall, the bed rails, my legs, anything to use less stomach crunching.

If your hospital bed doesn't have the trapeze bar to help get in and out of bed, request one. I tried getting out of bed without it once. Once. Never again.

I am home and have sleep like a queen in my own bed! Glad the hospital part is over with! Doing great so far today!

I am home and the drain is out, I have to return to remove the stables but Thank God I am home, the 1st day was so so so hard but it gets better with each new day just keep that in mind. On clear liquids until I meet with my doctor next week not rush dont feel hungry and that is a blessing.

Night 2 in the hospital....gas and nausea was really bad. Firgured out it was the meal replacement shake....too much milk. The chicken broth helped relieve a lot of pressure!

Hey everyone

So I am 1 week post op and I have to say, today was the first day I felt really good. I definitely had my share of "what the hell did I do" days in the very beginning but definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Cannot wait to move on from the full liquid diet and get to eat some tuna and egg salad. Just wanted all the pre-ops and early post-ops to know that it DOES get better. Every day is better than the last. I ate some soup at a restaurant today and it felt great to be satisfied and full so quick. I am so excited for the rest of the year and what is to come!

Thank you for posting this, because I was wondering what the hell I was thinking tonight as I am on day 2 at the hospital

One more day before the super exclusive Class of January 2013 closes it's books forever. Good luck to whoever is having surgery tomorrow!

I'm scheduled for tomorrow. It's been a long haul, I did my pre op classes and that was started in July and now I'm finally just getting to the last step. Anyone else tomorrow?

Was wondering, how many people had hernias that needed to be repairded?

Hi,

I'm a week out also. I'm not as happy as you right now. I'm not sure if it is a combination of things. I miss real food!!! I'm on full liquids. My friends brought food over for my family. The chicken looks so good! I'm not hungry, but I want that food. It may also be that I'm stuck in my house. I've been to the YMCA for walks, but I haven't gone many places. Maybe things will look up when I can eat real food, and not have to rest so much. I'm glad you're doing well!
