  1. Broke my four day stall today!! I made sure to get a little more calories in yesterday and bam, 1lb down today!! So happy!! So anyone in a stall, try upping your calories, maybe that will work! I can tell that I am going to be a slower loser and I'm ok with that. As long as its going down! Lol
  2. I was sleeved on 1/23. I had my 2 week post op appointment yesterday and was only down 7.4 doctor and nut said that was a great loss but I really wanted at least 10. I have lost 19 lbs total pre and post op. I have now been stalled for the last 4 days. So frustrating!! I am starting to freak out about it!!
  3. Jmac1010 I would love to have some friends on there! Sleeved 1/23
  4. I was sleeved 1/23 and am down 4lbs from surgery day. Hoping to lose a good amount in my second week but I get so nervous that I will never get to my goal weight. But I do want to say that to everyone who is disappointed about losing 20 or more in 2 months or so, think of it this way, 10lbs of weight loss in a month is awesome in my book. You may have lost that prior to vsg but you probably wouldn't have continued losing that. You would have gained or not lost sometimes. With our sleeves, at least we will continue to lose. It may take longer than others but I have faith we will all get there. SW 226 Surgey day 214 CW 210
  5. Hey everyone So I am 1 week post op and I have to say, today was the first day I felt really good. I definitely had my share of "what the hell did I do" days in the very beginning but definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Cannot wait to move on from the full liquid diet and get to eat some tuna and egg salad. Just wanted all the pre-ops and early post-ops to know that it DOES get better. Every day is better than the last. I ate some soup at a restaurant today and it felt great to be satisfied and full so quick. I am so excited for the rest of the year and what is to come!
  6. Hey everyone So I am 2days post OP and was just wondering if feeling hungry is normal? I guess I expected to have no hunger pangs or anything. I was able to finish a Jello cup without any issues and have been able to drink Water pretty easily. I have noticed that when I swallow, if I am not sitting straight up, I get pains in the middle of my breast bone, kind of like a gas pain. I am so worried that I am going to overeat and mess something up. On Clear liquids right now. Any advice is welcomed!! Thanks!!
  7. Hey everyone So I am 1 day post op and feeling ok. Day of surgery and this morning were pretty uncomfortable. Home now and looking forward to getting a full liquid diet on Saturday. It still kind of hurts to drink water because of gas pains. :/ doctor said procedure went amazingly well and wishes he had taped it for training purposes! Put on 6lbs from all the fluids at the hospital. Can't wait to start seeing the lbs drop!! How is everyone else doing?
  8. On our way to the hospital. Surgery is at noon. Emotions are running high but I pray that everything will go smoothly. Good luck to everyone today!!
  9. That's awesome!! Congrats!!
  10. Tomorrow is my day!! Doesn't feel real yet! Packing and getting everything squared away before I go to sleep tonight. I have to be at the hospital at 8am and surgery is at noon. Excited and nervous for this next chapter in my life. Can't wait to no longer feel hungry! Good luck tomorrow to all my sleeve sisters!!
  11. That is fabulous!! Congrats!!
  12. Which bariatric hot chocolate and soup did you get? Congrats on the surgery. I am having mine on Wednesday. So nervous but excited too!!
  13. The seminar was very I formative. The whole practice does feel that RNY is the better surgery so originally I was booked for that. About two weeks ago I decided that I was much more comfortable with the sleeve so I met with Katkhouda and let him know I wanted to switch. He still tried to convince me RNY has better success etc... But I still really wanted the sleeve so he said that he would do whatever I was most comfortable with. I love his bedside manner and he is a great doctor. So for timeline, I was really lucky. I went to the seminar either late October or early November. Met with Katkhouda, got my stress test done in December and had my psych and nutrition eval in December. My insurance did not require a 3-6 month nutrition program beforehand. The office submitted everything for approval on a Friday and I was approved by Wednesday. I have Blue Cross PPO. I was so worries about getting denied but I think it was just meant to be. I have a BMI of 40 (just barely). Can't believe my surgery is in about 3 days!!! So crazy!! Let me know if you have any other questions!
  14. Hi there, I was approved and will be having my sleeve surgery with Dr. Katkhouda next week. I am so excited and nervous. My cousin had bypass surgery with him and is 220lbs down with complications. It has been amazing. I really like him and feel so secure in my decision. Good luck with your surgery!
  15. Hey all Just found out I was approved for my surgery on 1/23. I am so excited and nervous. Having a hard time with the liquid diet. Still hungry most of the time. Can't wait to be on the other side with you post-oper's
  16. Hi everyone! I am new to the forum and have been lurking for the most part on here. I am having my VSG on Jan 23. I am so excited and nervous. I have 3 year old twin boys and a 9month baby girl. Nervous about recovery with the kids being around but I have a lot of outside help. I cannot wait to start this new chapter in my life. I have struggled with weight my entire life so I am looking forward to this change. So glad I found this forum so I can talk to others who understand and are going through the same thing!
