January 2013 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I had mine on 23 Jan but I actually dread eatting, it always feels uncomfortable and I always feel nauseous after I've eaten. I take my time and I chew but I always feel bad, I think I've had maybe 3 times since surgery where I haven't felt sick and that's all :-( please help give me some sound advice x

If I eat more than a cup or so of food per meal (over a 20 - 30 minute timeframe), I feel nauseous too. Our stomachs can't handle much anymore - so maybe decrease the amount you are eating???

I eat approx 6 teaspoons of food before I feel really sick, I take me time and chew thoroughly to make sure its not too chunky but still I feel sick. I drink lots of Water to keep me hydrated but food fills me with dread. Small amount eaten very slowly still makes me ill :-(

Thank you for taking the time to try and help me :-) x

(Trefoils) When my stomach started gurgling, I like snapped out of it. Hey, I am not supposed to eat that...but I did...omg...let me get dressed and go to the movies and not eat popcorn...lol...omg...yes I just ate 3 cookies as if I didn't have surgery...Ughhh..oops my bad!!!!

I was sleeved Jan 21 and I started having that problem when I switched to regular food. A friend who had hers a year ago told me to start taking Probiotics daily. My doctor has me on Prilosec daily and that's supposed to help but once I started the probiotic that cut out the nauseousness. Try that it's over the counter like the Prilosec. Hope that helps.

I keep eating too fast. I'm waiting too long to eat in between meals and find myself starving and scarfing down my 3-4 bites. Then I feel sick and can't eat anymore. How can I train myself to eat slow?

Take dime sized bites and chew the daylights out of each bite. It takes some serious conscious effort to override a lifetime of eating habits.

I do take lansoprozole, which is the same kind of medication, but this stops the acid but not the sickness that I feel. I will get some probiotics and see if that helps. I'm just sick of the nausea and. I'm worried my 3yr old will think that its normal to be sick after food. She asks me everytime I eat if I'm okay and do I need to be sick. I really need to get this sorted out. Thank you so much for your advice. :-) x

Hello January Sleevers. Today I am 6 wks post op and loving my sleeve. Today my BMI is no longer morbidly obese!!!! I have dropped 24 lbs since surgery and 58 lbs since seeing my surgeon the first time on Oct. 17th. I have had no issues with my sleeve or surgery.

 I love knowing that I am not going to over eat when I sit down for a meal

Update:

Sleeved on 1/22/13

1st doctor visit weight-380

surgery weight-360

Current weight 3/16/13-310

Things are going well, but I'm starting to lose my appetite again just like after surgery. Anyone else feel the same? What can I do? Not eating means stalls in my weight loss.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
