I am now a "Kiwi"! I arrived in NZ a little over 6 years ago. I live on Waiheke Island. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland in the U.S. Anybody out there from New Zealand that wants to chatter away?

I feel good, I'm slightly biased due to having gall stones right now! Not impressed - so I've been in some pain, sore back, nauseous etc for a while now! But beforehand I felt great! My pain after surgery was very minimal! I'm able to eat anything & everything, very lucky (obviously in moderation and very small amounts lol) I have had the gall stones thing for months now, for quite some time it went unnoticed and I wondered why I felt so strange but now I understand!

I've been unfortunate to get these gall stones but.. I've lost 40kg and pretty over the moon about that! Have more energy, love exercise!, have no desire for food (most of the time), fit clothes in EVERY store - for someone who was overweight their whole life that is fantastic :-) so look forward to what's to come! We all have our ups and downs but I've had MANY more ups than downs. I love life these days :-)

Hi there, anyone from NZ still hanging around the threads? I'm being sleeved on June 5th at ChCh WLS. Very nervous, and aside from a few people I spoke to around two years ago when I first started looking into surgery, I've not had anyone else to talk to about this at all. Was hoping to have a chat with some Kiwis who had it done or are thinking about it. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
