I Don't Want To Shart!

Recommended Posts

I AM A SHARTIST

It was BAD

But, I think it was the mootopia milk. It was within first week post op. I had a few days of close calls after I earned my shartist badge but I have been normal since then. No more mootopia milk for me, unless I get constipated..

I could see that it was a danger during pre op liquids and the first few weeks post op. After all- liquid in, liquid out, right?? After that. Not a problem.

Mootopia. Yup, could be the problem. I just finished a shake made with mootopia, and my intestines are doing that "danger" rumbling.

2.5 weeks post-op here, and no sharting yet, though it's been a near thing a couple of times.

I was sleeved Tues. I woke myself up at 4:00 this morning when I sharted in my sleep. My nurse said its pretty common but I was still embarrassed. I'm planning on sleeping on a towel for precautionary measures when I get home. UGH!

It happens, you are after all messing with your digestive tract and radically altering your diet. Some get constipated, some get diarrhea and some remain regular. There is absolutely no way of telling what effect it may have on you - if any.

Just heed the old adage - as repeated in this thread - don't trust a fart.

I was sleeved on Monday and starting Tuesday night I have had them about 3-4 times a day. Every time i feel the need to fart I make sure its done in the restroom! You can't play games with the dreaded sharts!

Embarrassing to admit but first week out I sharted red Jello. Nearly passed out from fright. Fortunately I was at home and hubby was there. I have not had red Jello since and yes it was sugar free.

OMG, this post literally made me laugh so hard my side hurts! :P

I'm about 8 weeks out and it didn't happen to me. I'm certain it won't either. I only experienced loose stools while in the liquids phase. Everything is back to normal at this point.

Reminds me of a poem I used to hear as a kid, although I changed it a bit to fit the subject :)

Now I sit here broken hearted

Tried to fart,

instead I sharted.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
