Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!

Hey everyone! Just started this thread for the post op octosleevers of 2012. I had my surgery yesterday and all is well. Gas pain is terrible but I've been walking around. Full fluid dinner tonight. Sippin on my oh, cream soup and pudding. They saline locked my IV, catheter is out and I love walking around. Nausea and pain are so far under control. I'm giving myself 3 hours to finish this meal

I was sleeved 10/10 as of today I am down 32 lbs! Only 6 lbs from 200...never thought I would ever see that day again. Now that I can eat pretty much anything protein is so much easier to take in. Found that drinking with a straw is much easier to get my fluids in... had pains from the air. I am actually liking my self now and looking at myself in the mirror. People are really starting to notice the weight lose..especially the hubby ;)

Keep up the great work everyone...we are on our way to sexiness!

OK I think I can eat too much. Thanksgiving I had two small slices of Turkey' date=' stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce....[/quote']

So did I. But it was 1/4 of what I would have normally eaten. I felt guilty for a couple of days, but honestly. i eat less, i stay away from carbs, drink more water than I used to. I dont drink diet pepsi any more. I think that's good enough. Anything else is obsessive

Done Did It!

I take comfort in knowing I am not the only one. I can eat anything. If I sit down and eat then I eat smaller amounts but I can also graze all day long too. I am not normally a grazer so this makes nervous. I am just trying to make smart decisions but it has not been working the last couple of days.

I'm a grazer too

I need to get off of the Wheat Thins. They are becoming a staple in my Diet. They are Reduced Fat, but its like I have to eat them! They make me feel normal. I quit smoking a year and a half ago... and now no Diet Coke or comfort foods since August. I don't want to trade my old addictions with a Wheat Thin addiction!

Oh goodness, Thanksgiving was such a treat for me. Though, I did certainly eat too much and I need to learn how to slow down my pace. I went to Kentucky (live in MI) for a week and had no access to the internet. Because I faithfully track my food intake on MFP. I was unable to do that for a week and STILL lost 3 lbs. :D I was excited to say the least becaus I couldn't eat as healthy as I normally would while at home. They don't have much there (at the ONLY grocery store for miles) in ways of healthy or sugar/fat free foods. I did my best and was conscious of it the entire time. I got some decent exercise. Probably wasn't the smartest thing to go on a four wheeler at 6 weeks post op, but hey, I had fun! And am feeling fine. Back the grind of being healthy and moderating everything. My mom baked me a homemade Sweet Potato Pie. 1/8 is missing and it took 2 days to eat THAT much. lmao. The boyfriend doesn't much care for those things so now, I'm afraid it's going to go to waste. D:

As of Saturday, I am down 37 pounds and starting to see/feel the difference. Thought I'd share a picture of comparison. :)

Now, I just have to get my butt walking more. You'd think that having a 2 year old would be all the energy I need. Lol.

Wheat Thins are delicous! Lol. I had to stop eating them. They definitely could become a staple!

I ate triskits. Threw out the box. Begone vile temptress!

Saw the doc yesterday... No more Wheat Thins for me! He would prefer I eat Protein Chips. They are pretty good, but they don't go down as easily. Oh well... Life goes on!

Where do you find these protein chips?

I bought them at my surgeon's office, but you can get them online at http://store.americanbariatrics.org/.

Any suggestions for high calorie healthy snacks? The doctor is really after me to get more calories in.

Regular fat cheese. Peanutbutter. How far out are you? I have no problem getting protein or calories, but I am 8 weeks out.

Happy Thanksgiving! ! Got in about a 1/2 cup of food total ...protein first (ham)' date=' 1 tsp of stuffing, 1 tsp potatoes! Ate too fast I think...ugh gas nausea feeling . Gas X strip for dessert.

But was totally psyched that that's ALL I had and I should have had less. Was shocked at the volume of food others were eating...can't believe that's what my plate used to look like.[/quote']

I noticed that too. I guess I ignored it before. It's like people could get enough. Made me feel sick. I hope I never eat that way again.

I havent been on much, kinda doing my own thing, but my dr approved me on some foods that i wasnt allowed to have yet. I have lost 27lbs from surgery (10/9) total of 61 lbs! so im slowly getting there!!! one day at a time!!!!:D
