Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!

Hey everyone! Just started this thread for the post op octosleevers of 2012. I had my surgery yesterday and all is well. Gas pain is terrible but I've been walking around. Full fluid dinner tonight. Sippin on my oh, cream soup and pudding. They saline locked my IV, catheter is out and I love walking around. Nausea and pain are so far under control. I'm giving myself 3 hours to finish this meal

I was sleeved on 10/10. I don't know if it is because I have 4 children one of which is only 1 1/2 but my abdomen seems to be reacting to this trauma by doing braxton hicks feeling contractions :) does anyone else have these types of contraction feelings? Hopefully my abdkmen will figure out it isn't going to have to deliver this "sleeve baby"soon ;)

Had my operation 10-1-12 I'm suppose to be on liquids till the 17th but I have to admit I cheated today. Had saline crackers . When did anyone start yo have food and did it hurt as it went down?

Hi all. I'm getting sleeved on Monday the 15th! Can't believe it's finally here! Scared and excited. Can't wait to join you all on the losers bench!! Had a bit of a fright...got a UTI and was afraid they'd postpone the surgery but since it can be cured with a 3 day course of antibiotics, I'm going to be good to go in Monday.

Love reading all these reports. I was sleeved Monday 10/8 and Wedneday the loose bm's started. And a few explosions, luckily I made it in time. I don't remember any yesterday, and def not today. Anyone one a regular schedule? Used to be daily coffee and hit the Lu. Maybe ill take a stool softener in the am if I need it.

Well that's good to hear girl. Get ready.. Don't think about anything but your scale going down. Good luck!

Love all the real candid responses, you guys rock

I didn't have any of that.. Are you drinking enough fluids? You could be dehydrated.

Getting in around 40 oz, trying for more.

Thank you. Excited but petrified. Good idea to think of scale going down. That and the motto "nothing tastes as good as being healthy and thin feels"

Every time I drink my stomach growls and feels like its contracting! It hurts really bad and makes me not want to drink but I have to too, does anyone else experience this?!?!

Yes and it's normal my md said , your new tummy is spasming when you drink , it gets better just sip sip sip

So frustrated. I'm down 30 lbs since surgery. A lot of weight in 11 days but I've lost nothing in 2 days. I'm now on pureed so maybe my body needs to adjust but I was hoping I'd be one of the lucky ones who lost a mass amount the first couple months. I hope I don't stall for a long time.

I passed out yesterday and had to be transported via ambulance to the hospital. I did not fully come to until the paramedics got there. I saw my surgeon today and he said everything looks fine with my sleeve. I am still weak and tired. Everything I eat makes me nauseous. I do not like feeling good. I'm very afraid if I don't go back to work soon I will have to quit. I feel horrible

I hope you feel better soon :)

How is everyone doing? I'm having a lot of trouble getting my fluid and protein in. So far only 300 MLs of apple juice and eating a sugar free Popsicle right now. Maybe ill have some chicken broth tonight...

I have to sip all day long to get it in! Very few breaks.

Hi everyone. I had the gastric sleeve on Monday, October 8th. Absolutely no pain no nasueau and no gas. Everything went well. Today is the second day of the full liquid diet and all is well. Not a fan of the cream of wheat, but I'll manage. I'm not up to the full 64/64 but working my way toward it. Drinking Mu protein shake as we speak.
