There are other options!! It takes some creativity. There is this wonderful blog, you'll see mentioned here or there on this site. Its called the World According to Eggface, and the writer had gastric bypass surgery. Since our surgeries are so closely related, her site is a wealth of information!! Here is the link to her shakes... remember after surgery that you'll need to avoid any of the shakes that have fruit with seeds (like Strawberries) until you are healed up. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-favorite-protein-shake-recipes.html

I just had my surgery on Thursday of last week. I had been on liquids for 2.5 weeks before surgery. I got really tired of sweet liquids so stared to mix Soups in the blender and add a couple spoonfuls of plain greek yogurt for extra Protein. That really helped to make it tolerable.

Stop the insanity. There are better ways to get Protein. Tuma chicken Beans turkey beef Prepare to nut over a bed of baby spinach or your choice of greens. Nuts works great adds crunch to a salad and you eat less and chew more.

I like the vanilla or chocolate whey Protein from Walmart. 2 scoops. I mix it with 2 table spoons of plain Greek yogurt high in protein and very little sugar. I also mix in a cup of frozen fruit. Strawberries , mangos, peaches, pine apple or mixed berries. Sometimes a little ice and one pack of Splenda. I mix it all together in my blender. When its Really thick. I eat with a spoon and thin I drink in a cup. It Hold me for a good 3 hours.

I was able to do the Adkins advantage. It tasted a lot better then the other options and they came in already made cartons. I would have 4 a day and during dinner time have a cup of chicken broth. In between I would have sugar free Jello. I was also allowed 8oz of skim milk a day. Lo carb yogurt or sugar free Protein pudding. It was a lot easier to do then I thought it would be. I had my surgery on 10/02. Good luck!

I like OH YEAH Protein Drinks, they are RTD's (ready to drink) shakes. Vanilla cream is my latest fav. Clear Protein fav used to be cytosport whey isolate drinks in tropical and tangerine (rtd's as well).

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
