A Lighter Me... Tijuana

Experiences? Stories? Feedback? They're my choice at this point but real people sharing real experiences help so much. Thanx!

Hi, I have booked through a lighter me as well. Many people on the forums have used them as we'll as a ready for a change. I have not had surgery yet but I'm set for October 25. I can put you in contact with my coordinator if you'd like. She always responds immediately with any question I have.

What prompted you both to consider alighterme over readyforachange? I'm going with readyforachange but have seen some comments recently that suggest their service isn't as good. I don't even know if its possible to change at this point, or if i want to. I haven't paid my deposit yet, which will probably seal the deal. I planned on doing that within the next few days, though, so I need to make a final decision soon.

I was sleeved 8/31 by dr Garcia in TJ using A lighter Me and had a wonderful experience. Dr Garcia and his staff were friendly and compassionate. The hospital was nice and clean. The onsite coordinator eduardo and the driver abraham could not have been more accommodating. The hotel Marriott was very nice.

I traveled alone and felt at ease the whole time. I met some women at the hotel before surgery the next day and met more at the hospital. It was a wonderful experience.

I have already posted in another topic in self pay mexico but my expereince was that alighterme is more attentive, I saw them at the hotel everyday, not mine from ready for a change. I had an issue my first day at the hotel after surgery and they didn't come over to help me and I was by myself, it was very upsetting. Aligherme just seem more professional and the rep from alighterme even stopped to speak with me and offered help if I needed it. If you haven't made a deposit, check out alighterme you have nothing to lose.

I used Alma from ready for a change and have no compliants. The coordinators were both great and checked on me frequently. I had requested that I be the first surgery of the day, even though I was the smallest and least complicated case (they like doing the complicated cases first), and alma passed my message right along to Dr. Garcia and I was indeed first!!!! Whenever I had questions there was always someone there to answer them for me and it was usually within the hour!!!!

I used a lighter me and can not say enough great things about them and my entire experience. You have nothing to worry about -- you will be well taken care of!

Do these ladies live in Mexico? Do you pay them extra to help you and travel. What is the point of a corrdinator? Do they work for the sugeons?

Thanks for any info.

Yes they live in Mexico and they work for the company that coordinates your surgery. So not really working for the surgeons but can recommend different surgeons and prices.

Most definitely the service is superior through A Lighter Me. At least that was my experience while I was there. There were some other patients there that were left on their own. I know there was 1 from Ready for a Change and the other 2 might have been from someplace else. The A lighter me coordinators offered to help the others which I thought was very nice of them!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
