Will My Boobs Lose Weight?

Recommended Posts

Have always been big chested and I am hoping that I will lose most of my boobs. I am a 38G. Yes not a mistype and whenever I lose weight it's never from there. My butt goes first. Does anyone else have a problem similar to this because I am hoping they go away. Don't want to do a breast reduction. The scars are horrible. Did anyone have this surgery and lose their boobs???

Yes, most do. My bra band size is already smaller. My cup size isn't yet, but I'm only 3 weeks out.

You will lose eventually from your chest, definitely. Most women likely lose from there right away, I am not one of them... you probably are not either. I was a 38DD and I've lost about 33 lbs and I may be a D now, but I've lost noticeably more from everywhere else. I am only 4 wks post op.

I'm 2 1/2 months out and I've seen a big difference in my band size. I was wearing a 42DD sports bra with an extender because it was too tight even though the cups fit. Now I've removed the extender and I'm hooking at the tightest row. The bra is still too big and I've got extra cup room too. Finally! I switched to a smaller bra for day use but can't afford a new sports bra yet.

Yup, I really lost a lot off my chest. I am not even sure what my cup size was for sure, but my band size was a 40 and that was tight! Now, depending on the bra, I wear a 32DD to a 34D. I lost steadily off my chest, but it has been the last 20lbs or so to goal that I noticed the most coming off. It was beginning to feel like every pound was coming off my boobs! The only drawback is they are pretty deflated now. I have been heavy most of my life and breast fed 2 babies and my poor girls kinda paid the price. Nothing a good bra can't solve! The only other thing is my hubby finally fessed up to missing the bigger boobs!

yes, by the time i have my plastics, I have decided not to build back up...they are just going to contour them, and I will have big "A" (lol, big A) or small B's.

Yes, you will. Breasts are largely comprised of fatty tissue. I was a 40I the day of surgery and am now a 34DD or 32DDD depending on the bra. They are not the prettiest of things, and I will most likely have breast lift in a year or so for my sanity and self-confidence. I have to wear a bra ALL THE TIME now, even sleeping or they end up in my armpits. Not kidding. They are so flat I can see all my ribs when I lie down flat.

But I am so much happier with them at this size, I NEVER want to go back to being above a DD EVER again.

Yes - at 255 I was a 42G and at 180 I am a 36DDD. I know i am going to keep shrinking even more. In fact, I am anticipating needing a lift for sure by the time I'm at goal, and maybe implants. Seems like more and more of what is going to remain will be loose skin rather than breast tissue - TMI maybe, but that's the reality!

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
