Almost A Week Post Op

I had surgery last Thursday ( the 20th) and so far I am feeling pretty good! Thank God I didnt have any nausea, or gas pains. I am not hungry but have the need to crunch or taste something other than Protein & water..LOL Today is the first day back to work although I will not be working all day just enough to get some stuff done. By the time I take a shower, fix my hair, & get clothes on...I need to rest for a bit. I have had a bit of Constipation & was wondering if anyone else got this way. Today I am feeling a nawing pain that I havent experienced yet....Is this normal? Also, I feel like a bloated pumpkin did anyone else have these feelings? Thanks to all of you on this forum for the support with your blogs & questions. All in all so far so good, I have no complaints.

Glad you are feeling good. Getting tired quick I wld say is normal & sadly but true so is constipation. I take a generic stool softner that helps. If you dont get release you will feel very bloated.

What do you mean by nawing pain?

Where's the pain you're feeling?

I had a pain I figure out and come to find out it was one of my incisions. It wasn't major but like you said nawing and annoying. All my doctor did was clip the piece of nylon stitching and within a day or two the pain started to deminish.

He also pointed out to me that it was common and part of the healing process, which for WLS patients can take 6-8 months or longer to completely heal on the inside (I'm 2 1/2 months post op and every now again I get a pain).

I've heard that Constipation is an issue...people take Miramax and Fiber supplements (there's gummies, and good ol' Metamucil)to help relieve constipation. I've read a couple threads on the subject--try typing constipation into the search bar. I found some funny and informative stuff...constipation SUCKS, and I am NOT looking forward to that...sounds like you're doing well! What is the gnawing pain you speak of?

Keep us posted. :-)

the nawing pain feels like hunger pains. I think I need to get more Protein in. Ive been drinking 2-3 oz every hour or so...cant drink a whole lot at one time. I get really full, & its hard to "sip" it LOL.

I had a hard time sipping also....had to learn the hard way--vomiting lol. Drinking & eating too fast has got me a few times.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
