Feeling Hungary More Often

Recommended Posts

Well then would you purée a cheeseburger and give it to a toddler?

Ummm, in principle, yes? Why not?

I probably wouldn't puree it because it's gross, but as soon as kids have some teeth, why not?

About the posts abover concerning a "stuck" scale, try eating a high quality extended release shake at bed or up to an hour before bed. I try and do this daily, but sometimes forget or last meal was too close to bedtime. The extended release Protein will help with hunger during the night ( if you have it), keep your body from going into the fasting/ starvation mode and also may increase your daily protein just enough to move the scale. I find that when i do not do this, the scale will stall or be a very slow mover. It really makes a difference. Good luck.

Thank you and good luck to everyone that provided positive support to my comment yesterday, I'm new at this and like everything else it's a learning process..... To those who felt the need to judge me, really, are you that perfect??? However, good luck to you as well.

I'm sure it's a bit different for everybody, but for me, I get hungry but a small meal satisfies me for 3 hours or so.

I'm also 3 months post op... and I had the same feeling, and I ate some bad choices.... I don't know what happened, but suddenly I could eat more and a lot.... but people told me it would pass.... u just have to wait it out, but make right choices of food.... and to be exact it also happens during my period....

Make sure you are sipping and drinking all day and that you wait 30 minutes after meals to drink. This will make you feel fuller. I constantly drank all day when i wasn't eating and still ate several small meals and was never hungary. Also atleast one rtd Protein Drink in the afternoon will really fill you up and it will take awhile to drink it.

I have been eating 100-150 (3 oz) of some Protein every 3 hours since switching to solids. It has been working well with 90 lb down from July 2nd. Recently' date=' I have noticed that after an hour ( usually after the lunch meal), i am hungry a little. I have to remind myself i just ate an hour ago and can eat in 2 hours. It usually passes after this little pep talk. However, I also make sure I get something to drink if i have not started yet after eating. Good luck.[/quote']

You touched on a great point. Even after VSG some self control is still necessary.

I sip on an Isopure 0 Carb ready to drink bottle throughout the day. I split the Isopure into 2 bottles and fill the bottles with a complimentary zero calorie flavored water. It makes the Isopure taste better. Provides a total of 40 gr Protein and 40 oz fluids (both bottles). That provides a bit a protein throughout the day. Seems to help the hunger a little. I am having trouble getting in enough calories - haven't made it over 400 calories yet (I'm 2 1/2 weeks post surgery). But I feel great and my surgeon seems OK with what I'm doing...... I'm sure that next week, when I start pureed foods, it will be easier to get my calorie count higher.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
