Help! Exercising Made Me Gain Weight?!

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 months post op. and I didn't exercise or anything, cause I didn't have any time... but the weight just kept going down and was so happy....I have 2 girls who are a handful.... so a week go school started and I have a few hours to myself in the early morning, so I thought why not boost my weight decrease and exercise every morning... so I started 2 days ago....walked or should I say marched. for an hour.... and today I get on the scale and I gained half a pound!!!! is this for real???? Sitting around like a bum all day makes me lose about 50 pounds and when I start doing the right thing and exercising, I start gaining!!!! WTF?????

It could be anything: Water retention, TOM bloating, gaining a bit of muscle... Don't freak out. Think about this: 1lb of fat = 3500 calories. There is no way in the world that you consumed 7000 calories in 2 days being 3 months post op.

Stay off of the scale for a few days until this passes. Weighing too frequently can be stressful! LOL.

thnx..... this is really helpful..... I'm relieved but also sad, cause I am really dead beat since school started, u know, walking 2 miles in the morning, going home to cook, clean, then help the kids with their homework, dinner.... I end up my day collapsing on my bed :))))

Keep up you exercise routine! Burn calories any way you can. My son and I have Dancey Dance Time (Yo Gabba Gabba reference), I wear one of those sweat belts around my stomach while cleaning house, walking...anything helps.

How often are you weighing? Try to limit it to once per week. That way you can keep you sanity, because weight can fluctuate throughout the day/week. Be kind to yourself!! You're sleeve won't fail you.

That is great advice!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
