You will have an IV while you are there, so plan to enjoy rocking a hospital gown. Take two or three pairs of pannies, maybe a robe, and a comfy outfit to wear home. I took basic toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, deo., lotion, Chapstick, Shampoo and conditioner and a brush. If your hair is long, then a ponytail holder. Take books or a tablet, most hospitals have wifi, cell phone and don't forget chargers. Also, some slip on shoes are great and some socks. Good luck! I was sleeved on August 28th and have lost a total of 22 pounds, 10 from five day preop. I am so happy I did the sleeve! ZERO regrets other than should have done it sooner! I only spent two nights in the hospital and was up walking the afternoon of surgery.

I took a change of clothes, cell phone, charger, toothbrush, and tooth paste. I only took the phone so I could talk to my kids. I mostly slept so I didn't need anything else. I didn't even watch TV.

I had nausea the first two nights. They put some meds in my IV to help.

Having chapstick and hand lotion was crucial for me. For some reason I was dry and dehydrated, so I agree with all the other posters yet want to emphasize the sanity-saving packing hint of CHAPSTICK.

Chapstick, hand lotion and extension cord for your phone...or whatever you need to charge...slippers if you don't like socks

Extension cord AND ur phone charger! If u want ur phone to reach ur bed. there are not to many plugs close to ur bed! Even the nurses thought that was a good idea.

This is great information! I, too, am having surgery on Wednesday and already want to start packing my bag! An extension cord is a great idea! Thank you!!!

Hello everyone I am packing now! My surgery is 730 on Monday morning. The extension cord is a very helpful tip I would have never thought of it

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
