Yes...raising hand right here. Love me some latin food. So far I've found that carnitas are way too greasy and I cannot tolerate them. I can however eat Lechon. Guisados are a go to, meat and salsa in a crock pot can't go Aron with that. Pozole is still my fav, and I can tolerate:)

I love pozole!!! How soon were you able to have it?

I just finished my Options class at Kaiser and I am waiting for my surgery referral-any day now. I am Mexican married to a Cuban with 3 kids that love to eat---(they are all thin). I am nervous that I am going to miss my fave Mexi-Cuba food!! Looking forward to hearing about everyone's experience.

Hi everyone. I noticed that there are group for everyone out there, but not for Hispanics & Latinos.

I feel like food is such a huge part of our culture. Like you go to your aunt's house and the first thing they do is try to feed you LOL!

Are there many of us????

MexiRican (Mexican PuertoRican) here. I'm just starting my pre-approval process. Will I have to forever give up mama's homemade tortillas?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
