October 2006 Bandsters!

Calling all October bandsters...

I just wanted to start a thread where everyone can post their surgery dates and we can compare notes.

I am scheduled for 10/18. I have ALL my pre-op stuff done as of last week. I start Protein shake diet on 10/4. :)

How is everyone else doing getting their pre-op stuff scheduled?

Good for you purtynailz! Hope all of this weeks newbies are doing great! :clap2:

I'm 10 days out and although food wise all is good (I was able to start soft proteins on the 4th day- liquids were rough for me) I am still feeling pain, some dizziness and yesterday @ my post op appt the surgeon cleared me for work!! I don't feel like I'm ready or even to drive for that matter. Don't know what else to do I'm gonna try to get in with my Primary dr to see if I can get more time.

Good luck to all going in tomorrow:cheer2:

I cannot believe my big day is almost here...I think I will gulp down one more bowl of broth and chase it with a popsicle before bedtime.

I took my son shopping tonight for his birthday gifts, his b-day is 10/27. It was nice to have that time with him before I am bound to the bed for awhile. I took a valium...nice....I think I will sleep fine tonight ladies! :)

I had my surgery Tuesday morning and am doing great no gas pains or anything Do you think I can have a small cup of Def. coffee in the morning? I sure would love one. Mary

Hi Mary,

Congrats on being banded!

My post-op diet says that I can have coffee in week 1. I'd just be sure to take in extra fluids as it's a diuretic.

Mary, Congrats! And how great you have no gas pains! Consider yourself very fortunate. Speaking of gas, decaf can give people gas. Call you doctor's office.

The follow up on my chest pain is: I did call my doctor and it is normal. I wonder how long it takes to stop hurting. Good news: cleared to swim! Yea!

I watched Biggest Loser last night and I was very impressed by the woman who was ousted. She has lost 88 pounds to date and looks phenomenal. She has also run two triathalons. WOW. Someday that will be me, well, maybe not the triathalons.

Have you all heard Sharon Osbourne is removing her lapband?

Jess

Good luck everybody schedled for today. I'm 4 days post op and doing well. I had my 1st experience with friends in a restaurant on yesterday. My mel was a bowel of Broccolli Cream Soup.. I was great and it sat well on my stomach. I want some meat..lol bu I know its way to soon! Anybody else have these feelings.. P.S. What is the pain in the chest that causes burping ro come on??

Sounds like today and tomorrow are big days for several people... Good luck to all.!!!

How long has everyone been out of work? and how long are you to wait to drive?? My disability company called yesterday and I am off until November 9th.. that is 4 weeks I would be off. and I am not allowed to drive for 2 weeks!! that is going to be hard.. I have one more week..

I am 1 week post op.. and have lost 10lbs in a week.. not to bad..

Ms. Khris, that feeling your getting in your chest is still the gas that needs to come out.... it lasted for a while, mine felt like a big gas bubble that would come up into my chest as if I needed to burp but I never would, it would last a few seconds and go away, but it would be numerous times throughout the day.

Thank goodness those are gone :clap2:

I found gasx thin strips that you put on your tongue worked great.. I had some gas.. but I did not have the chest pains.. just the bloated feeling..

THANKS to who ever gave me it..

I did not get a chance to take measurements beofre surgery but I am today..because I can tell I have lost inches at least in the boobs.. when I lay on my side they don't lay on top of each other..LOL!!.. they don't touch now!!! yippeee!!!
