  2. Mine arrived the day before Christmas! Thanks to my secret pal from Illinois, I am not sure which name you go by here. Anyway...I LOVED the candles! I lit the pretty red one yesterday on Christmas Day and I REALLY love the one with the pretty holly and the dish! The frog ornament was also adorable! Thanks SO much!

  9. FYI~~~ This morning there was a segment about WLS on CBS. Pretty interesting...it seems that the expert...surgeon....highly educated wls professional, was really positive about lap band surgery, and gave me the impression that he was leaning toward that as a choice for those seeking advice about which surgery would be the safest and a successful choice. He made it very easy for all the "simple" people, as Miss Geezer so lovingly referred to some, to understand. Check it out~~~ http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/11/30/earlyshow/main2217859.shtml
  10. That is too cute! Happy Anniversary Carlene! happyanniversary.bmp
  11. Okay.... I love~~~ 1. Pretty candles that smell good. I love the *christmas* scents like apples, cranberries, pumpkin, etc....I also like pretty candle holder things too. 2. I like bath and body stuff, especially the lotions. I am more of a vanilla-ish type than musky or sweet. 3. Anything moon themed is great! 4. My colors in my house are all earth tones 5. I am kind of hippy-ish so I love earrings that have pretty stones and are dangly, but not too gawdy or overdone. Okay....that should be enough! And, I am thankful for whatever I get too...I do appreciate your thoughtfulness secret santa!
  12. No regrets for me so far...nope! I feel better already, I don't have to take prilosec anymore, no more IBS, I am more aware of what feels good in my body and I care about myself more. I am far less depressed than I used to be and I quit smoking. So...I am thankful for so much that has happened as a result of my band, besides the 26 pounds that I have lost!
  13. I'm in again! Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  17. AngelaT~ Hey! I just checked back on this thread! My surgery went great, thank you for asking! I had my surgery with Dr. Marquez here in Austin with Southwest Bariatrics at St. David's hospital on 10/19. I went back to work today after 1 week, and I feel wonderful! I haven't even weighed myself yet, but I know I have lost some...I am so curious to know how much! Hey fellow Texans!!!
  18. October 19th....the date that used to mean nothing to me is now going to be significant for the rest of my life! It is the day that I was banded! I am sure that with each entry I will fill in the blanks of my life and this journey. It's been a long road, lots of weight loss and gain...lots of frustration. I feel now like I have a new lease on life, a new beginning, and I did this for ME! This week my strength was tested. I had my operation, coordinated the upcoming move from my house to another one, QUIT SMOKING, that was a BIG one, stopped taking the last of my anti-depressants, and was on my period at the same time...and I handled it, and I am doing great! I am SO proud of myself, and I feel like now, I really can do anything! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

  20. Hey pre-banders! I was with you all just a week ago! I had a lot of frustration with the process too. I went to the seminar in June, then submitted all the paperwork in July, had to get a doctor's statement in Dallas from an old doctor (long story) which required a trip up there in August, finally got the ball rolling in September, was approved and started all my pre-op testing, and I was banded last Thursday 10/19! It was worth the wait! Hang in there and keep calling the insurance company! It will be here before you know it! Michelle Austin, Texas http://www.southwestbariatric.com/ Dr. Marquez Banded 10/19/06
  21. YODA~ You just cracked me up!!!!! *LOL*
  22. I am taking one week off. That is how much paid time off I have, and it seems to be a perfect amount of time for me as far as my healing has been going. I will return to work this Thursday!
