I want to get my belly pierd.. I had too many bellies before..

I know what you mean.. you loose in parts at a time.. I have lost my boobs,legs.. but still a stomach.. I figured it would go one day..

Hi Bebbyk1.. I am also in Columbus.. Iwent to the Barix clinic in Groveport.. Things are going well.. I have lost now about 51 pounds since October 12th.. I just got my 2nd fill.. I have to remember to eat smaller portions.. Hope everything goes well for you. Keep in touch

I was wondering if there were any Ohio State Buckeyes out there.. or any one from Ohio?.. If so where? I am from Columbus..

I was banded 10/12/06... have had 1 fill...48 pounds down so far.. my exercise routine has slowed down.. I was working out (various arobic classes) 40 minutes a day.. 5 days a week.. in addition to doing alot of walking at work..and jobs around the house.

My wake up call was.. when I went to an amusement park with my kids (then ages 5 and 4) I could not ride the rides with them. My mother had to.. I was too big to ride with them.. It made me realize that if I kept the weight on there may have been other things my mother would have to do.. because I may not be here.. So next summer I am going to ride everything I missed out on with my kids

I just recently had my surgery 10/12... and my cycle was pushed back about a week to 10 days.. I was concerned as well... but I think our bodies have had a shock ..so it pushes it back.. too bad it was not all the way:p

10/18/06 Last night was hard.. I made dinner for the family because I wanted to keep up with my normal duties.. and I cried.. it is hard.. but I need to remember this is only a stage.. I will soon be on to the next stage.. only 2 more weeks. I have already lost about 10lbs! I am almost down where eI was in April... My goal is to wear the black dress I did in Chicago for New Years.. and then next year the small black dress I wore the first year John and I went out. I had to go to the grocery store Sunday with the family .. that was very hard.. there was things I used to normally pick up that I did not.. I had my broth and soup.. but soon I will be able to eat things again..

I was banded!!!! and on my way to a new life.. I have to loose my weight so I can be here for my kids... Your spouses are not forever but yur kids are. I am sore since he had to remove scar tissue..

Well I am back!!!.. I went for band surgery in April and during my procedure my spleen was nicked and I had to have my spleen removed and no band.:confused: I was devistated.. well I just went back and had my band done. I was just banded 10/12/06. Things seem fine so far. I am still a little sore because I had adhesion the Dr had to pull apart during surgery. but he was able to do the band and do it lapiscopy. :clap2:

Thank god for a low out of pocket expense I have to pay.. so with this mess up I have now met that limit.. so if I do decide to do the surgery..It will be free to me!! My concern is not if I am at a greater risk for infection( I am not) but has any one had an infection.. and what are the signs..

Thanks for the support.. I know it is my own decission.. but I am still trying to figure that out.. I am about 85% sure I will do it.. but I am scared of an infection.. that is why I want to see how many people with bands have had any infection.. I have read postings that talked about the port moving.. and pain at their ports.. but was that normal.. or was it an infection?

I am new to this site... I have been reading the postings and the support everyone has been giving for some time.. Well I need some support.. I have thought about lap band for some time.. went thru all of the pre testing..was approved and scheduled for surgery..went in for surgery ( April 24th) the surgery started out fine but then there was a complication and I started to bleed. My spleen tore during the surgery. My Dr. is the best in the area so I do not think he is the cause of this.(I did my research on him, this was the first case that he has had this happen to) .. he apologized to my hubby and to my family and said it is something that just happened. During surgery they removed my spleen ( you can live without one.. it is for reproducing blood cells and it helps fight off infections) Since this was a major surgery.. I was off work for 6 weeks now I am off work 1 more week.. For the rest of my life I have to watch what I do and who I am around. I have to take flu shot, phenonimona shot and menigitis shots every 3-5 years the rest of my life. I have to use purex gel like crazy.. to make sure I do not get germs from money, doors, getting gas, etc... The Dr did not proceed with the lap band because of the bleeding and he did not want any infection to set in because of the amount of blood. He did tell me I can try again in 2-3 months for surgery.. to allow my body to heal.. My hubby is not happy with the thought of doing it again.. I am about 85% that I want to continue with it.. I went in to have it done.. and had visions of a thinner me.. and now I am back where I started but without an organ...I want to do the lap band, but I have a concern of infection around the port... Is this common? My Dr said he would put me on antibiotics prior to surgery and then after, just to make sure. My Dr has already given me antibiotics now just in case I get the signs of ANY infection or cold like symptoms.. I am still trying to figure out what to do:help:
