My Before And After (Ok, During) Pics, And A Happy Day

Recommended Posts

so, i started this journey with my preop diet on April 1, 2012. at 5'6" i weighed in at 373. i got my sleeve on june 4, 2012. now, on september 1, i am still only 5'6" but now i weigh in at 258. i decided to Celebrate by sharing a before and after (during, since i'm not at goal yet) photo. my beautiful wife is a non-op, but is so supportive of me that she has lost 54 pounds by eating with me, and excercising with me.

also, to share my favorite nsv so far. i was able to join my cross country running son in a 5k, the second picture is me getting ready to cross the finish line at 49 min 20 seconds.

life is good, just wanted to share.

Congrats to not only you but your wife as well, that is amazing!!!

My hubby and I are both sleeved (I'm 22 months post-op and he is just shy of 18 months post-op) and I am so happy we did this together. What a great thing that even though your wife is a non-op she has shed weight right along with you.

That 5K picture is priceless, what an accomplishment, congrats!

You both look awesome! Congratulations. I love to hear when the spouses join in and not only offer their support, but benefit from the surgery as well.

Yay!! Congrats! While I am happy to hear that you are losing weight..I'm sorry to hear that you're still 5'6"! Please let me know if you start gaining height though, that means there might be hope for me too!! I'm 5'4 and was aiming for 5'9 but I don't think this surgery will help with that..haha.. I loved how you added you're still 5'6 :D

You have been doing awesome! You can see a lot of difference. It's neat that your wife has been working out and eating well along side you, definitely makes her your best support - plus she is probably feeling great having lost weight too!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
