Anything liquid you should be able to take when you get home. I found Centrum liquid at Wal-Mart. It's more expensive than pills, but it's only for a few weeks. There are also some liquid calciums that are a bit on the thick side, but will mix well with a couple of ounces of juice to help them go down easier. As far as pills, check with your Dr.

you can take gummy vitamins by day 3....if you can manage to tolerate them....just suck on them until they are disolved.

I started taking my chewables the day after I got home on day 6. But, I also have other medication I had to start up again while still in the hospital....although I did cut one in 1/2 for a few days I never had any trouble getting them down.

Still will take chewable Vitamins for a while though because those do tend to be larger if in pill form.

pills are many times too large, even several weeks post-op. So if you don't have gummies or liquid, what I've done is mill them in my coffee grinder. I take a multiple, calicum and a B-complex. I also take prescription meds and I just grind them all and add it to a tablespoon SF applesauce. Goes down smooth and you don't have to worry about them not being absorbed into your system.

I was told to wait 2 weeks when I started purees. Some chewies are hard on a new tummy.

I ordered a chewable Multivitamin by O-Purity and it was gigantic! Didn't taste that great either. Tried One A Day gummies today (almost 2 weeks post-op), chewed them pretty well and they went down okay.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
