  2. My meal plan allowed saltines at the same time I got to eat peanut butter. Just be careful not to eat more crackers than peanut butter. The main thing you want to get is the protein.
  3. Hi MsZeta what you are feeling is normal. Think about a funnel with a small opening. That is what the opening of your stomach is right now. It will take a little more time for the swelling to go down and let some of that backup subside. If you try to drink too fast the air gets in too and that doesn't help things drain any faster either. It took me about a month to be able to drink anywhere close to the way I used to. Just give it time and continue to do more sipping than gulping. LOL

  5. No, not uncommon at all. I could get a good amount down too but once I started the soft food it dropped off dramatically. I was shocked at how much I was not able to get down then. When you do start the soft food, eat slow, and put the fork or spoon down between bites. This will help you take your time to know if you are full. Believe me, you don't want to be swallowing another bite when you discover you have reached your limit. LOL

  7. I know exactly how you feel. I put my favorite soups in the blender and made sure they were well blended and ate them that way. I may not have been able to chew any thing but I was able to get all the flavor I wanted.
  8. It seems like you can take alot when you are on the liquid diet. But as soon as you start the mushy food you will see that is not going to be the case after that. Don't worry, you haven't stretched anything and the surgery was successful. Alot of us have felt the same as you do right now.
  9. My doctor fixed one for me at the same time as my surgery but they took care of notifying the insurance company. I didn't have to do anything. You should check with the person in your doctors office that handles the insurance and see what their policy is. I just had to cover the extra to the doctor after the surgery was over.
  10. My doctor said it was ok too but that they would take up the space in my stomach and I wouldn't be able to eat anything until they dissolved. I would feel full for about an hour or more depending on the size of the pill but otherwise no issues.
  11. I couldn't do the shakes either. I found Protein shots that have 26g of protein in the 2.9oz shot. They had orange flavor and fruit punch. I preferred the fruit punch. I found them at my grocery store in the section with the Ensure. Good luck.
  12. My doctor told me to start at 2 weeks and to have Flinstone Chewables.
  13. I had my sleeve done on Aug 6 and my sheet says no protein shakes til day 14. I am living on chicken broth and grape juice. I am looking foreward to being able to have cream of wheat tomorrow...LOL.

  15. Thank you for the video. Never thought about it like that. That will definitely make me think before I drink anything.
  16. This is AWESOME!! My family and I are all addicted to ranch dressing and were getting a bit depressed at the thought of having to give it up. Thank you for saving us!!! LOL
  17. You got 5 days on me. Im on the 6th
  18. I like the Premier Protein shakes that you can buy at Costco or Sam's Club. I think they are yummy. They have 30g of protein per shake and only 160 calories. Its worth a try to give yourself a chance to find something you might be able to like.
  19. Thank you so much for all the suggestions made on this post!! I've been making my hospital bag list and my shopping list as Ive been reading everyones lists. My surgery is on Aug 6th and I haven't gotten anything yet. Thank you all for your insights and experiences! They are so helpful to know what to look foreward to.
