20 Lbs In 10 Days On Preop Diet?

My surgery is on the 22nd, my final weigh in is on the 20th. I was told to lose 20 lbs. I'm drinking a TON of water and really trying to stick to my liquid diet. Is this possible if i push myself?

He was very pleased to see that I gave it my best effort. Do the best you can. Go to a gym or do an exercise video something I was working out 2-3 hours a day. You can do this!!!!

Girl I have to lose 10 lbs. by the 16th. I am doing 1000 cal. diet as per the surgeon and exercising burning at least 500-700 calories and drinking lots of water. ugh I hope I can do it.

Good luck. What kind of liquids are you on?

I think I might only hit the 12-15 lb lost mark tomorrow :( Now I'm hoping that my date doesn't get pushed back.

I think most surgeons give their patients a goal weight to lose - but I don't think they actually expect you to hit that. I think they want to see that you tried and shrunk your liver. But I don't know because I've only had one appt. with my surgeon and he didn't say anything about losing weight so I'm wondering if that will come at a later appt.

the only time i see my surgeon is at the consult (which I had on the 9th) and right before they wheel you back for surgery.

I'm with Kaiser so I have to lose 10% of start wt which for me its 24lbs :/

I have kaiser as well. My surgeon didn't look at how much I have already lost, he wants me to lose 10% of my excess weight (not total weight)
