I think it depends on your digestive track. I was afraid to try lettuce. I thought it would be to hard to go down but its actually the opposite. I was sleeved on July 17th and I'm no longer have any restrictions in my diet. Just take small bites and chew very slowly! Good Luck~!!

Why are some post-op diets so liberal and others do constrictive? My sleeve was done on July 9th and I can't even have puréed food yet? Is there a reason for this? Is it just different surgeons' opinions? What gives?

OMG I would DIE!!! Idk. My surgeon told me he is more lenient than other doctors. He said since I didn't have any trouble getting down liquids that I could move on to no restrictions. I am having trouble with chicken. Depending on how it's cooked, I can't seem to keep that down. Otherwise I'm fine with everything else. I definitely think its dr's preference. Which kinda blows :( !

Even in the literature I received there were conflicting diets. My doc said 2 weeks if you can't drink it u can't have it. I think it makes it easier for them to restrict as opposed to pointing out all the various exceptions to each rule. For instance I have had avocado, wonton Soup with wontons, and a couple other items. The concept is that it be of that consistency and avocado for instance will chew into nothingness. But great flavor :) yum. So some of it is just common sense. Speaking of...does anyone have opposing information or is there a risk I'm unaware of?

I was told no raw veggies for 2 months. I tried some the other day, around 3 1/2 months out and to my surprise (TMI!) it didn't get digested at all. So I tend to stay away from it.

Carrots and peppers seem to be fine though.

When's it okay?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
