Called Dr For Simple Question And Now They Are Sending Me To The Er! Help!

I was sleeved a week ago today. I have this pain in my esophagus kindof right in the middle of my boobs. Feels like I dry swallowed a huge pill and it got stuck. Not terrible stabbing pain but an annoying ache that gets worse when I inhale. Feels like I really need to hick-up or burp but the gas won't come up it's just stuck there. Anyway, I called my dr to ask about it and she's said go to the hospital where I had the sleeve done and go to the ER! What?? Why?? what is it???

It's probably nothing, but they want to make sure. Most likely it's heartburn. Good luck!

You will be fine, take some deep breaths and head to the ER so that you can get some peace of mind. (((((HUG))))) Keep us updated. Hopefully it is just a wasted trip by a doctor who overreacted, but it's better safe than sorry.

They probably just want to rule out any cardiac issues. Hopefully you will be home soon. Good luck!

Just got home, I got admitted over***ht. Turns out the esophageal monitor they had in me for my acid reflex they never took out after surgery. It was about the size of a pen cap so when it went through my hernia repair then my sleeve it caused some pain and discomfort. Was pretty dehydrated too which I have no idea how to prevent at this point since I'm constantly sipping on water or Popsicles. Doing okay now tho thanks for all the well wishes :)

Glad your home an doing better. Sounds like its good you went in. I guess even if something doesn't seem serious it's good to follow up.

So glad everything is ok...so to speak. At least you don't have to worry anymore. Keep on drinking, things can only get better:)

Oh boy! I am so glad that they caught it soon! Keep on sipping. I was just about to message you and ask if everything was alright, I'm relieved that you posted this thread. Feel better soon!! =)

It's great to hear you are home and doing ok. If left untreated I'm guessing that could have ended up being serious...so glad you went in.
