    My little, miserable story... 1/10

The first week is the worst, you will turn the corner soon. I had the same "what did I do to myself" feelings for the first few days. Stay strong, it will be worth it!

DAY ONE PRE OP AND ALREADY STRUGGLING!

I have to say I had built up the pain in my head much larger than it actually was. I was uncomfortable for 3 days post-op with gas pains, but it wasn't unbearable, it just felt like muscle soreness. They keep you full of wonderful meds! It really was an easy procedure, definitely worth it!

    Pumpkin Seeds (pepitas)

I am almost 6 moths post op and getting sick of the same old turkey/cheese snack every day. I discovered pumpkin seeds are much higher in protein than carbs! They are a pretty salty, but a nice change!

No baking or cooking needed. Prep/cook time: 7 min.

DAY ONE PRE OP AND ALREADY STRUGGLING!

Pre-op was absolutely the most miserable 3 weeks of this process for me!!! Surgery was easy compared to pre-op. I wish there was an easier way, but it is amazing how food will not control you once you are post-op. It truly is a life-changing operation and I am so thankful I went through with it. Hang in there.....it only gets better!!!!! (promise)

    Anyone use protein shots?

If you can sample the shots first, I bought a box and ended up dumping the rest. They were terrible. Stick with the shakes!

    WOULD U DO IT AGAIN?

Eating out! How do you sleevers do it?

When in doubt, order soup! I have had a lot of brothy Soups since I wasn't comfortable ordering a full meal. (Just stay away from the cream based soups.) Now, I usually stick to chicken or fish with veggies as the side. I love having leftovers to take back to work or home for later. I've noticed salads don't keep very well, so I avoid ordering those. It is actually fun. Today at Chili's I ordered from their "light" menu. They have a Caribbean chili chicken that is fabulous and instead of the side I got a cup of Soup for later. It's at least 3 meals in 1!!! You can't beat that!
  16. So I didn't make it under 200 pounds by the new year, but I know what I did wrong and I am moving on! I still LOVE the new me, I'll get there.

    Help..has anyone else

I am 5 months post-op and still stick to protein shakes in the morning rather than eggs.....my sleeve does NOT like eggs. Maybe someday.
  18. I have 2 weeks to lose 5 pounds in order to make my first HUGE milestone....ONEDERLAND!!!

  19. I absolutely had the same feelings. I also stayed one night in the hospital and was sent home. Misery would accurately describe how I felt the first few days. I got home and tried to eat a popsicle only to vomit it all over myself and the floor. I cried to my husband that only crazy people would voluntarily get 90% of their stomach removed. Buyers remorse was in full effect! Now I am 5 months out, 80 pounds lighter and it was the best decision I have ever made for myself! You can absolutely do this!!!!!!!!

    Sleeved yesterday!

I had a horrible time with liquids and a friend told me to set a timer and take another sip every 15 minutes. That saved me from getting dehydrated. Just think in another few days, weeks, months you will be so happy and feel FANTASTIC!!! You can do it!

    Tipping Point.. Awesome!

I could not agree more!!!!! I've lost almost 75 pounds and I can't believe the kind of energy I have now. What happened??? I can't believe it got that bad, but I am so thankful to have my spunk back!
  23. 69 pounds lost, 73 pounds to go....almost half way!!!

I Hate How People Label Us Wls Patients

Why are some nurse's so ignorant? When I was at the medical center for my EGD before surgery the nurse told "you're going to be so pretty....once you have surgery." I was mortified!
